Hidden Stock Carbon Fiber?

When I bought my MP3 back in november the interior was flawle except for the top of the cup holder had some of the paint faded and around the center ac vents there was something that spilt form the vent causeing a runny faded look. I was fed up so after reading the HOW-TO section I decided to paint the interior. I went with a silver metalic look, so I could keep with the stock coloring. After taping down the two side carbon fiber looking pieces on the center dash I began sanding down the rest. After a little ways I noticed underneath was the carbon fiber look. I decided to try and restore this look, but unfortunatly I sanded a little to hard in a few spots. So I primed it and went to town. I wish I knew this in advance, then I would have been more carefull and gave it a better attempt at restoring the carbon fiber look. Here is a pic.

that's the faux carbon-fiber trim that proteges have. you're better off painting it over.

Nope, the whole thing is the faux CF, and they just painted over the center section with the silver colored paint. I noticed that on mine too.

Eh, the faux CF looks kinda lame anyways. You can get an overlay for it if you really want
