HID Kit

Hello,

I am interested in getting an HID kit for the 6. Its an '07 4 door sedan (4cylinder). Has anybody here added a kit to their car?? I am thinking of getting either a 6000-8000k kit. Is the car's wiring able to support something like this, or am I better off to just forget about it? I only want it for looks more or less.

Second, is it possible to get a kit in the middle of the above range...like a 7000k HID??? I want something with some crazy color to it but still want to be able to have enough light to see the road.

Last, Has anyone had or heard of any problems with HID kits in general?? Are they reliable? Will they fry anything under the hood, circuit wise? I honestly don't know mjuch about them other than the fact they look amazing...nobody at the garages around here knows anything either as they are just getting them in stock.

Any info would be great...THANKS!!

i too want to add hid's to my 08 mazda 6 2.3 i have a set lying around but i heard that it has to me the mitek brand ..????is that true...the ones i have are phillips...were in my old car...anyway..has anyone else done it..and did they have issues at all????

2006 Mazda 6i
I got my HIDs installed (Apexcone) 5000k. No problems with them. Not sure about the Mitek thing. I know that mine work fine. No issues, at all. The only thing is I enjoy driving more.

what was ur old car? because the bulb size may not fit in the mazda 6

and i would suggest getting anywhere from 4000-6000k i got 10000 and viability during rain is horrible but any other time of night, it is great

the new mazda 6 has the ballasts already for hid's right?

because my moms cx7 has the ballasts already, so u can aim them better

H1 is the kit i have...i think the m6 is the same for the low beam...correct me if im wrong...i dont think they have the ballast already...im sure they dont..but ill peak under the hood and see....even if they do..im sure they wont work with my kit...its a plug and play kit so it has its own ballast..

oh wait, sorry i didnt mean the ballasts i ment the dome looking part of the headlight rather then the regular light bulb that reflects

YES!! thats it, sorry about that, i had a brain fart haha

but yea those really help aim the hid's

i wish i had projectors from the factory

Im using stock mazda 6i projectors. I have no glare. The bulbs are H1 and the kit i have is plug in and play. Meaning unhook the stock bulbs, plug in the HIDs(positive and negitive and ur up.
The only thing I had to do was drill through the dust cap. The hole should be smaller so the seal(on the lights fills the hole flush)
Like i said its pretty easy install. Some people say that you need to remove the front bumper.. I DIDNT.. I did however pull out the screws(palstic) in the wheelwell. Just so we could get a hand up into the tight sqeeze. The driver side is a tight tigh sqeeze. passenger side not hard at all.

The kit i have had its own ballasts. Not sure about the 2008.. might have hid ballasts already.
