I just orderd this:

Xenon - hid lighting - 8000K Diamond White Color HID Conversion Kit -- H7 Light Bulbs $399

Wanted to know if the HID Kits are really that much better than the OEM lighting that comes with the Mazda 3.

Any feedback would be great..

Hyper White

Its gonna be bright white,
take some night pics,
with OEM, then afer the install,

that should be cool

Actually, wouldn't it have a high Blue hue to it instead of white?

I know the 5000K are about the perfect if you want the blend of white/blue.
The 8000K would be super blue.

Pics whenever you get done.

your light output will be severely affected.. it'll look nice but i don't know how much performance you'll get over stock

Why will it be severely affected??

i just got my 8000k installed. Well, it DOES have more of a blue hue in the light itself. The output of the light is still pretty bright. Seen some 500~6000k ones.. sometimes they seem "brighter" than other ones.. but while you are driving in well lite area you would'nt really notice any real change until you go into a little bit darker place. Man, you will certainly notice the difference thou.. its a lot brighter than helogen.. BUT. from what i have heard.. bullb over 6500K decreases in the amout of light they output. So, 8000 will have a HIGHER kelvin scale but the actual light might be less? but so far, i havnt really notice THAT much of a difference. LOVE it.. cuz i love the Blue hue the light gives off.. really set me apart from the rest of the car.. Even amoungs the HIDs~! i would take some pix but my camera sux at night.. couldnt see the light.. i wil try to get some pix up.

read the second paragraph (or the entire site if u want to educate yourself) here

"halogen 800-1700lu vs 8000K kit with ~2000lu" ok so you STILL get performance improvement but not as much as if you were to use a 4XXX K kit

you PROBABLY won't notice that it's NOT THAT bright b/c it'll appear brighter than halogen. BUT when comparing to another (lower tmeperature HID kit) you will see yours is more for looks but produces less light output

well for me.. i didnt really knew how much difference the light will be.. but meh.. i am fine with 8000k.. with the right projector... it looks fine..
