From what I understand, 55w are overkill without HID projectors. I asked a vendor (who could have sold me the 55w for more profit) and he recommended 35w for P5 application.

The 35W 5000K's that I have are plenty bright without having to worry that I'm blinding people. I've seen civics with poorly aimed 55w and they are atrociously bright.

Also, if you have a battery harness, you will not burn up the cables. The stock lights run at over 55W IIRC and the initial turn on burst would be drawn through the cable from the battery (with a harness).

stick with 35w, gets the job done without any of the hassle of being flashed by on coming cars

now i have an HID conversion kit running at 35w draw on both my fog lamps and my H7's, and it's a world of difference. You could run 55w HID replacement bulbs, but your just wasting power. Don't settle for the HID bulbs themselves, get the kit with the electric ballasts and you won't regret it. Right now i'm running at 12000K and not regretting it at all

"Brilliant Blue" looks like your driving a friggin iceberg down the road. Maybe stick with HID white, but the blue does look pimp :D

12000K seems to me like it wouldn't give true enough color (too blue) and would make it hard to see things off to the side like deer and whatnot. Do you have a cockpit view of the 12000K?

yeah the blue is a bit extreme, i liked it at first, but w/o projection headlamps at my disposal, i'm stuck with lighting up stop signs from 5 blocks away.

i point more light up than I do down at the road. That needs to be remedied soon!

I meant it would make things hard to see for you. 12000K bulbs in theory should be less intense than the 5000K that i have. I do like the way newer signs light up with the HIDs :) Id really like to see a street view at night from the drivers seat vs at the bulbs. looking forward to that post.

Exactly what he said. Get a relay harness with a fuse if you do get 55W just in case...or else it will melt a wire and it'll be hella fun trying to find which one popped.
