HiBoost

Manual (TBK) also sells the kits. The only thing is that he sometimes takes his time also. The guy knows his stuff though.

TBK Performance & HiBoost

Hi People, Well I've done all of my Hi Performance Work with TBK Performance, and the Only Comment that I can say is that MANUEL TBK PERFORMANCE, Juan's Brother is one, probably the Best Hi Performance Mechanic and Performance Shop I've Seen around. Yes They Take Quite Long Time, My car has been in TBK Performance Shop for the Past 7 Months, Yes is Frustraring, but I Found out today that I test drove my car and Getting it finally done at 4:00 PM Eastern Time TODAY, that every single minute, Hour, Day, Week, and Months are worth avery minute, Money and Time I have Waited. Honestly if i have to wait again the same amount of time to get the finals results i saw and felt today, i will do it with my eyes closed. I really Don't know that Much About Juan and HiBoost but one thing is for sure and there is only one way the Truth goes, if you want to have the best, you have to deal with the best, and dealing with the best means you need to have patience, these People have a Insane Demand of Customers who knows what they do and they are willing to wait, I can Vouch that. For me Manuel TBK Performance is one of the most Honest, Descent and Great Person I've ever deal with, He's just a Busy men who runs a great performance shop where everybody want to do their Performance Work, I Highly Recommend TBK Performance All the way cause I've been there and done that, and they do the most amazing Hi Performance Work you've ever Seen.. Sorry to hear about Hiboost Very Long Time to answer and get parts. People these 2 brothers are very Honest, and great persons so before we really talk s*** we have to find out what is really going on, and then we can shoot the amount of s*** you want out of your mouth. Be Patiente and try to do things the Nice way, WE and I Include myself Wont find a place to buy and do the type of parts they make, sale and Install. Good Luck to everyone that is having hard time to reach Juan, Hope everyones get's what they've paid and deserve !!! Sincerely: Mazdaspeed2oo35 a Very Happy Customer with the most Amazing work done by a Performance Shop !!!!!

TBK Performance, (Manuel) All the Way !!! they ROCK !!!!!

I can understand that TBK and Hi-boost do good work and or is busy, but it is up to them to respond to customers in a timely fashion. Dont you think if their suppliers took there money and did not reply or supply shipping info they would be happy ?

Im With You men, It's not nice, I understand. I have Waited 7 months to get my car back to my hands. Hopefully I get it today at 4:00 pm. I feel very sorry for those people. but Like I said Before at the end it's going to be worth all of the waiting time. hope you guys get your stuff pretty soon. my best wishes, I can Vouch that these people are honest and great persons..

Glad I never will have need of their services. Sorry to offend their fans but any shop that holds onto a car for 7 months is ****** up. Anyone who takes your money for a product, not service and 4 months later still has not shipped the item and refuses to respond to repeated emails is also ******. They could have the best product in the business but if they do not treat their customers well enough then they are s***. If they could not provide the product at the point of sale, they should not have taken the charge for it at that time, like any other retailer that takes something on backorder.

tbk has the same problem he will tell you that you will get your parts within a week and 4 months latter you are still waiting.

Just like Miguel said, you should know what's going on before you run your mouth. Do even know how much work went into his car?! You should re-think your statement above, Miguel owns a race car now not any old turbo charged Protege. Those 7 months include issues with companies sending turbos late, bolts getting stripped or other problems that can easily set you back days etc.

Things always happen in the modifying of a car...But think this; would you rather rush him to probably end up missing something, or getting it done correctly in the fastest humanly possible time? Ultimately I know he does his best with what we can and if that means some time, it's worth it. I ALWAYS get a final product that satisfies me.

this sounds just like the MAM story. a few years back i bought the hiboost fmic kit from juan and i received it in a reasonable amount of time. the customer service wasnt the best, but decent enough. i understand how frustrating it must be to wait such a long time for your products. its one thing to give a shop your car or order parts and have them update you about the progress or when the parts will be received. however, its a whole different scenario when you receive zero support and customer service. a simpleupdate would keep the customer satisfied. MAM lovers said the same exact things, "beau is a great guy and you will get your parts dont worry. BLAH BLAH BLAH." and look , he still owes ppl thousands. you cant let vendors get away with bulls*** like this. im not saying juan is gonna skip town or go bankrupt, but i just hope this doesnt turn into the same thing that happened to MAM.

I say it will be the exact same way.

Anyone remember Perfworks?? Yeah well, I remember i ordered my kit through him and all that bulls*** of him becomming a scammer. I had to go to my bank and get my money back. I would advise the same for anyone that purchased from Juan and hasn't got a damn thing to show for it

I totally agree. Its happened both ways with my customers too. Sometimes stuff just goes perfectly and others not. Every customer should know exactly what they are getting into BEFORE they get into it. However, I dont think anyone EVER expected to NOT get what they paid for from Juan. They didnt just call him up and say "hey, heres $4000. Do what ever you want with it and by the way, take your time doing it!" He responded to one of my emails after a really long time and was friggin cocky about it!!! WTF???? LESSON LEARNED! But everyone should be warned from here on out. If you gotta have a great kit for your Pro, just get it from TBK.

Hello everyone,

This is Juan here. It has been a long time, but I just don't spend much timne in these forums. Most of our business is done thru our only 2 dealers (TBK Performance and Protege Garage) for many reasons. 1st, I have no time at all to spend in a computer to see these forums and or e mails which the real sales are not worth the time. Some time ago we decided not to continue as authorized vendors on these forums for some issues we had with Antoine and since then I was away from the forums.

Just To inform everyone, we are doing pretty well with sales the way we are conducting our business now and we are very far from closing or desapearing. We only owe 1 kit to Mike from over 40 kits sold in the last 6 months and that is because his kit is special order. He knew about this and agreed that it was going to take time. We have the 1.6 kit only as special order and because the turbos we were using are now very hard to get we had to change the manifold, downpipe and oil lines. These parts need to be done in an actaul car and my friend had his car doing some work and have not been able to finish the parts.

Ken can come in here and tell how many kits he has purchased and how many we owe. Or he can tell if we deposit his checks before shipping. We never do this unless is special order or when people pay by paypal.

We do not need to take money from anybody to run our business and this is the way it has always been. We even ship some parts sometimes even without charging the card.

I will get in contact with Mike about this issue and his kit is soon to be shipped. ( no refunds in special order parts)

You can check with Manuel (TBK Performance) also to see haow many kits and parts he has sold for us in the last 6 months.

This is in no way to compare with MAM situation some time ago where over 20 people were waiting for orders. I only have Mike and one guy in Canada waiting for parts.

We are proud to see that over 400 people are running our kits with very few issues since 2003.

We are still the makers of the fastest mazdas around the world. Proteges, MSP, Mazda 3 and Mazda 6 are rocking with HiBoost products.

We still carry the best turbo kit for the Protege, upgrade kit for the MSP, Intercooler kit (MSP), Turbo kit for MZ3 and MZ6. Soon to be released is the upgrade turbo kit for the Mazdaspeed 3 and Mazdaspeed 6.

I will try to get in here more often.

Juan

Its good to see that this is not turning into the MAM situation. I still enjoy the hiboost fmic kit i bought through you a long time ago ;)

You just need to keep the customers informed and s*** like this wont ever happen...

still doesnt explain why Juan has been such a dick to everyone that is just trying to get what they paid for. as i said earlier in this thread, my kit wasnt even complete and all he did was reply with cocky b.s. answers. AS HE SAYS NOW: "I have no time at all to spend in a computer to see these forums and or e mails which the real sales are not worth the time." Proof enough for anyone??? $4 grand PISSED away because here my car still sits from not ever being right in the first place. I'm sure he will argue that everything subsequently is the purchasers fault and they dont know what they are doing and shouldve taken it to a qualified mechanic... blah blah whatever! The bottom line is, he just thanking everyone for their DONATIONS by not responding to even the biggest of issues. (eekfu) JUAN

With that attitude you'll never solve anything. It's not cocky, it's business. He is no longer a vendor on the forums so why should he be forced to check his PMs? It's a SECONDARY form of contact. Call the man if your problem is SO serious! Why is your car running badly? I re-read the post, he basically answered everything he needed to and THEN SOME.

Customer service responsibility has to be taken somewhere and if the purchase was originally made directly with Hiboost that's where it should still be. I have gone to the info@hiboost link the past few times I needed help and got a response from Juan himself after a week or two which is not so bad. One was to have him look over my Fuel map that he responded, "send it to me." I did and then sent several messages back to him with nothing for the past 6 months and gave up. Then Another time asking about a heatshield and if not available through him where to look. The response was "I'll have to see if we have anymore of those in stock." Then no other reply. If he is not going to have direct support then it needs to be forwarded to the vendor.

see. sounds to me like avarela is so far up his ass, he cant even see the truth. if juan is just "doing business" then why do so many people have the same complaints?? and my business was thru the website. this thread was created to bring up issues good and bad about "hi-boost" or didn't you "re-read" that? thats what makes this community so great. people can express for themselves the situations they have had with their mazdas (obvious i know). but if this many people just on the forums are expressing this, then imagine how many more there are out there! juans only reply to all this was: we have sold soooo many kits blah blah..... the best thing he said was at the very end " i will try to get in here more often". the most effort shown yet.

Just to be clear, I was not told that this was special order BEFORE I paid my money, only after many attempts to contact HiBoost to find out what was happening.

Juan confirmed he received payment on 2nd May 2007 and on the 31st May 2007 I received an email from HiBoost stating the 1.6 kit is made on order and that it will take at 4 more weeks to ship my kit.

I was asked if I can wait that and if not they would have no troubles refunding my money and I said 4 more weeks wouldn't kill me.

It's been a hell of a lot longer than 4 weeks since the 31st May, it's actually been 25 weeks at the time of posting this message.

On 31st July 2007 I was told my kit would ship the following week. Still haven’t received it, in fact... it still hasn't been shipped and now I have been told I will not receive a refund and my kit will ship ASAP... so still no timeframe.

Juan has offered me a gauge as compensation for how long it is taking but I'm afraid I'm beyond it all now. I am not confident in it going as sooth as it should.

Still not good enough I'm afraid. I no longer want this kit. (bang)

Am I being unreasonable???

Mike

i had the same problem as mike and juan also offred me a gauge and i got it but i also waited like 6 or 7 months for the kit u think more but at last jaun send it but iam having some problem finding the turbo oil drain fit fitting cause he told me that it is a special order part but my turbo came without it i used -10 an fitting it is holding very good a minor leaking from time to time but juan told me he will send me the fitting and that he ordered it but nothing at all since several week like 3 month know and nothing in my opinion juan should put some body to work on the costumer service and take care of it sine he cant so let some body else do it for him

I'll echo that we do buy quite alot from Juan. We have a customer/employee looking to pick up a Scion kit soon. I admit to getting frustrated and aggravated at times when I cannot get a hold of Juan. I do remind myself that he lives much further away than most suppliers, is a very busy man on top of that and has always, in the end, come through for me. I've done years of business with Juan and did a few years with Beau. You simply can't make the comparison that Hiboost and MAM are even close to being one and the same in terms of quality and reliability. There are light years of difference between the two. Even if Juan does not get back to me when I'd like him to, Beau could have gotten back to me right away and simply lied to me. I'd rather have truth in silence than a load of BS. I do not get at all the level of complaints on Hiboost service or product that I got when I sold MAM parts. I can recall times where I got verbally threatened by an upset customer in more ways than one over a MAM item. I can't say I've ever been threatened over a Hiboost product.

Last time I really needed help in a flash on a Hiboost product, I gave TBK a call and they took care of me. At the end of the day and what I do now is I simply tell customers up front to expect a good lead time on turbo and intercooler kits and if they don't want to wait I won't take thier order.

I will personally continue to support and do business with Juan as long as he or I is in the industry and willing to do so.

I no longer want this kit. (bang)

I think that's all that needs to be said.

Do a credit card chargeback and fraud investigation through your bank (paypal will leave you high and dry!)

Make .pdf's of every email and records of any phone conversations
