Anyone done it? Since spool is gone, this is my next choice. Dynos would be great, but just personal opinions work too! ;)

Thanks in advance.

i started reading but its 21 pages even with high amount of responses per page. can you sum it up?>

Summary:

Spool is sold. New company won't support Proteges. Spool is moving onto grander things. Now back to HiBoost stuff. ;)

yea i finally got to that point. now im definately going for minor things such as a light flywheel and some appearance and stereo related items. as much as i love my car, i doubt it will be anytime soon before i fork over 4k+ for a turbo and still have money in case something goes wrong. nor will i trust myself to piece together a turbo system on my own. if it was that fool proof, any shmoe could piece it together on this board, mark it up 100 bucks or more and make a profit selling a "complete" kit.

anyways, im sorry to threadjack your thread. drive on.

Looking at other peoples sigs, it makes we want to take new pics of my MP3, but its too dirty right now, and too cold to wash my car.

The Mp3 would be a great candite for the turbo, the only problem comes (with any turbo kit) with the advance timing of the MP3. If you get the kit with the E6X then it would be perfect all the way to 12 psi on stock injectors. If you dont, then the 8psi would be the max safe boost, maybe even 6. If you can trade the ECU with another P5 then 12 is the number. Go for it, I'am considering a used MP3 for my next project since I really having trouble deciding on a new color for the MSP.

Pirana,

Thanks for the info. I've email Juan at HiBoost and right now their kit is throwing in the E6 for free. This is only til the end of the year. Too bad i can't get it ASAP. Still some months away.

He said they've had customers put it on their MP3, but so far no one on the board has responded.

pirana, i'll trade your p5 for my mp3 ;)

my mp3 has not even 2000 miles since a rebuilt engine to MAZDA specifications (still under warranty)

Pirana: I thought you would need the 440cc injectors if you ran 12psi even with the E6x. Even still I think I'll play on the safe side and get the 440's when I'm running that much boost. Fuc%$ng A I was hoping I would be the first to put the Highboost on my MP3

Hehehe, you can still be. :D I'am not doing anything yet. You can run 12psi safely with stock injectors, I did without problems. If you plan to do more, then the injectors are needed.

It will never hurt, although Juan ran his P5 at 14psi with the 440 injectors and the factory fuel pump and never saw the pressure fall below 50 psi.

I'm gonna do what u are doing then. I'll turn the boost up to 12 run the stock injectors for now, & install the Walbro fuel pump.

Would it be safe to run daily on the street without any guages if I didn't really get into boost and did the speed limit? the reason I ask is after I buy the kit I'll be dead broke for a little...LOL

I think I read somewhere but could be wrong but doesn't the E6x control boost, wich means I wouldn't need a boost controller

Also I know it costs $4,000 as is. My question is how much would it cost minus the F10 it comes with and the E6x in it's place, & SSQ HKS BOV,........ I'm thinking somewhere in the neigborhood of $5k
Just getting an idea how much longer I have to save. Right now I'm at $2k and I have about $3k more to go & that's not including guages, a new exhaust, and a new clutch. LOL....damn it's gonna feel like it's gonna take forever to get one. But it sure is worth the wait hearing u guys talk about it.
