Maybe....but that wasnt a street car, but a full cage drag car. (bike)

DAMN GREAT JOB! Damn the haltech!!!
Its not easy to run 11s.

Looks like its the fastest protege5 IN THE FORUM!

I need 4 of those rods....

what size slicks are u running? 22 inch or 26?
Those are 22s I wish I could fit the 26 without cutting the fender. The 22s are smaller in diameter than the stock. killing the top speed.

And yes, these are draglites from a Mustang. A bit heavier than what I wanted, but there wasn't much choice as I needed thenm ASAP.

Hmm, you're right Vic, but I'm not sure we can call Juan's car a street car now that he put those slicks on. (scratch)

I can't wait to hear his times after he has an lsd...

Juan's car is 100% street car....that he changes tires at the track is acceptable in any league, I bet he drives it back home after the runs. ;)

Oh, I thought that to be a "street car" you had to be street legal with DOT approved tires (maybe they are?). I don't really know much about that stuff though... (huh)

You are correct....there are "classes" where "DOT" approved tires are required. But a "street car" in a track just means its approved to ride on the road. Has signal lights, bumpers, glass, seat belts, headlights, muffler, insurance, it could have a stripped interior, wipers, etc, etc... but lets not beat the subject (doughpoke Juan's P5 is 100% streetable! It even has a catalytic converter!!!! (at least on the original package), hehehe.(2thumbs)

PS-the Pump gas wars by Hot Rod magazine classifies a Street Legal car, as a car that would pass a State safety inspection, have insurance and run a 25-mile cruise.

just because it runs slicks doesn't throw it out from being a street car. its still full interior, and probably drove to the track with the slicks in the back.

dean needs to get to the track again with some slicks and see what he can do.

those were on little p5 axles and he had just drag radials, how the hell he managed to snap the axle is beyond me, unless he just did a stupidly high rpm clutch drop. alot of the more built proteges on this forum have drive shaft shop axles now heh.

Yep, I will probably get a pair. But I also thought he broke his tranny afterwards since the axles held the power. Maybe it was a synchro or fork, I can't remember...

Is your LSD a Quaife? or the MSP one?

I have a mazdaspeed tranny and also a spare msp lsd (the one I am selling). I wish I had a quaife but they are just so expensive.
