That is something worth sending to mazda, maby then they will see whats realy going on, it could help them find a fix. but we need to get a stock MSP run ill aslo try my local dyno aslo.

I spoke w/ that shop again, and he said that there is definitely something wrong w/ that dyno. They want me to bring my car in and strap it down for some "trace graphs" etc so that they could maybe pinpoint the problem. Hm, this sounds great, but I think I might have to pay out of pocket... Dont' know if I want to do that just yet.

The 1st thing on the list is to take it to the dealer, and see what they say. Of course I'm going to try to get the resident Mazdaspeed expert out w/ me, so we'll see how that goes. After that, it's off to the dyno sometime next week. I am just going to have them do baseline runs.

Boostisgood said that his Mazda dealer told him to expect a call in a couple weeks concerning an ECU flash (he's located in Pittsburgh, about 4.5 hrs away.) If my guys don't think I have a problem, then I'm going up there and having them flash my ECU and then doing a dyno afterwards. :D
 
What shop were you talking to? I might be able to contact a shop and see if we can get some free runs. Long shot but worth trying.
 
Pitstop in Alexandria my roomates brother works there so maybe they can hook do a discount group dyno or a free single dyno session for the MSP.
 
I'll ask my roomate when I see him tonight and see if he can't get in touch with his bro.

I got Dyno time tomorrow at www.speednation.com goin out about noon. 75 bucks for up to 10 runs. I will not be modding my car at all tomorrow. the car is stock. He cannot provide me with a printed graph of the A/F, but I can video the second monitor with the A/F mapping on it. I can send this to Mazda, I will also try to get it put to a format to post here. That may not happen till monday evening, as Ill prollly have to get one of the MIS gurus at werk to do it.
 
if you get a video, try to find someone that has video capture capabilities on thier computer... If not let me know, i've got the setup here at work! (boobs)

If REMillers can set me up, I will be dynoing as well tomorrow. Although my car doesn't stall, it's gonna be nice 'n humid down here in VA (due to the rain) and I have a feeling that it'll either help or not.
 
hmm bad deal that you guys have these problems. have you guys though about talking to the guys at flyin miata and ask them if they ran into any problems when they were setting up their turbo kit for the protegs? just a though you can throw me out on my ear if you want.
 
Actually the outside conditions don't have much impact on some dynos.

SAE corrected takes the outside conditions then computes that againts a "standard" enviromental condition to come up with HP/TQ numbers. They aren't always 100% however it comes pretty close to good conditions.
