this is a very shameful thing for me to post, im embarassed to say this but.

i shortshifted into 3rd one time, very bad. and it grinded horribley


now, i have to shift into 3rd really slow (sometimes i have to rev a little) or it will make a "poppy" noise

no other gears do this
when i start the car up in the morning, i dont have to be cautious about shifting into 3rd for a few miles

What transmission fluid do you have in there?

Dude...

My transmission was shifting like crap, and I got the car almost brand new!!!

Look into a transmission oil change. I personally have BG Synchroshift II mixed with Lucas oil stabilizer. And it performs great.

Many have tried Redline MT-90 fluid with great results.

Just like motor mounts, a fluid change is a must! (spank)

Do you have a mechanic you usually go to?

Worst case scenario, take it to the dealer and bring the desired fluid with you. Tell them to change transmission fluid and put your s*** in.

Most auto parts stores should be able to order this fluid for you. 3 quarts. Maybe 4, just to be totally safe.

I don't think anyone has ever tried that. I know people have mixed GM Synchromesh (also known as Pennzoil Synchromesh) with Lucal oil stabilizer with good results.

I did 2 Quarts of BG Synchroshift II and 1 Quart of Synthetic Lucas stuff.

There is also non-synthetic Lucas stuff, that is A LOT THICKER.

There are really a lot of options. You can either research all of them or just start with Redline and see how you like it. It's all a matter of preference.

Well, there are different types of fluid. Some have been mixed with Lucas, others haven't, or at least I haven't heard of it.

the guy from advance recomended i look into getting RoyalPurple fluid, but its like 10 bucks a quart, worth it?


thats the only 3 i could find, i was wondering if anyone had experience with these
