I was washing my car today and as I was drying it I noticed WHITE PAINT OVER SPRAY all over my left rear door/windows/quarter panel ! I am pretty sure it is white spray paint that got over sprayed onto my car but I don't know how it could have happened.

So. I was planning on waxing my car but obviously I am not going to now. I used my finger nail, a paper towel, and some glass cleaner to get the paint off the windows. It came off pretty good.

It's over spray so these are tiny white dots of paint, hundreds of them.

Now, the next step is to get them off the doors and off the black lining around the windows. I think I am going to get a clay bar and try that.

ANY SUGGESTIONS?! I am pretty pissed off right now as you can tell but luckily for me I know that the spray paint is very weakly bonded to things when it's over spray, especially because of wax and it not bonding to glass very well.

Also, the rubber lining around the windows is going to be the hardest to clean up I already know that the paint bonded to that MUCH stronger than everything else. I am not sure the clay bar will work on that even if it works on the doors.

HELP!

Acetone on a soft rag, followed by a waxing for sure. The acetone will strip off any wax on the area in addition to the spray paint. It should not harm your clearcoat as long as you dont rub the heck out of it or something.

Ok I got the products, mothers and I picked up some back to black while I was at it. My car gets more attention than... s*** I don't even know what to compare my baby too.

yeah I hope that works, although I work with an acetone based stain and that stuff is not something to take lightly, I'd be really really careful if you use it. You soak your gloved hand in acetone based products for 20 mins or so and you won't have much skin left. Be freakin careful! Aside from that the clay bar should help alot.

Wow. I didn't notice that. 1001 FTW!

Ok. So check it out. I clay bared the crap out of the car and it's all nice and smooth all over the car. I did the area that was affected with the paint about 6 times. The clay bar got about 98 percent of the crap, including on the window frame area.

I am washing my rags and cloths right now because I ran out. Once they are done I am going to use the Back To Black on the window frames and the hoses inside the engine bay.

I am going to wait until tomorrow morning to use the clay bar one more time on the body and than I am going to wax. I am in my garage and even using a flash light it looks like I got 98 percent of it but I want to wait until I have sun light on it to make sure before I wax over anything.

The question I have is: Is there a way to store, clean, or otherwise improve the longevity of my clay bar? It got pretty damn dirty and I folded it over many times but it is pretty soaked with that lubricant stuff.

store the clay in a ziploc bag. push all the air out of it then seal it. and store it someplace dry and cool.

I swear. I work harder on my days off than when I go to school or work. On top of COMPLETELY cleaning my car for the past 24 hours I have managed cleaning the house, my pets, and taking care of other crap. I think I forgot to stop and eat today...

On the list for tonight... Use back to black, armor all the interior of the car, shave my face... lol I have to shave tonight because I won't have time tomorrow. Tomorrow I am going to be waxing and cleaning the windows. Than I will go to school and than shortly after that I will take pictures. 36 Hours of cleaning will be the total time. I am on 24 hours right now. Jesus.

i wanna see the pictures..... make sure to post em. The ziploc bag thing is a great idea btw and yeah can't stress it enough to remove all the air from it before storing it.

Sorry to hear dude... I hope you don't think I tried to sabotoge you or something...
