I posting this purposely in the wrong forum because I know more people are reading here and I need a fast answer. I'm trying to get my mazdaspeed wheels off to resurface the rotors but I can't get them off! I'm pissed! I'm a noob but I"m not stupid...I didn't think so at least. I removed the lug nuts and the center cap and it seems that something is still holding them. Could it be rust?? And if so, how do I get it off?????! I don't have all day to work on this crap!

You shouldn't even have to take off the center caps... just remove the lug nuts and kick the rim and that should break it loose... at least thats what i did. I took my rims off to paint my breaks, and the back rims didnt want to come off at all. I just took the lug nuts out and kicked the back tire a few times and it finally came loose.

yeah, its the rear that I started on. I'll try the kicking the crap out of it method. Thanks.

take a rubber mallet and smack the tire (not to hard) and it should break lose. prolly is rust.

Loosen the lug nuts a quarter way, drop the car back on the ground and then push the back end side to side. This should break the wheels loose.

Thanks guys. I'll keep all those options in mind for other three wheels. This painting process is taking way longer than I expected!

Sorry...just wasn't mentioned anywere and thought it was funny.

Did you get them off?

Yeah, I finally got them off. But the painting process was taking too long so I only got one rotor done and I'll have to try to finish tomorrow now that I know what I'm doing a bit more. Being a noob really sucks sometimes. Everything takes so much longer than it should!

Put some anti-seize on the back-side before you put the rims back on. Should stop that from happening again. But it's perfectly normal.
