Help with TomTom SIM card problem

My freebie TomTom Live services expired without any warning. When I try to access Live services now, all I get is a spinning wheel and no successful connection. I checked the SIM card status and it either shows "no connection" or "connecting" but never actually "connected". I know people have been given the runaround by both Mazda and TomTom in the past but has anyone actually found a solution to this apparent SIM connection problem? I've updated the maps etc using TomTom Home and the sat nav works in every other regards, just not with Live services.

Ta.

I don't really understand what it is you want?

Live data has to be paid for, mine ran out months ago, but if I want to renew it can be done in the car, they give you a two weeks freebie and then email you the bill, something like that.
Post on the UK thread as the Yanks don't have live services, I think.

Yes I understand that it has to be paid for. I never received the warning that it expired (it slipped my mind that three months was approaching). After it expired, I am unable to renew it in the car, as the system doesn't seem to be able to "go online" to let me renew. Every different part of the menu system I have tried to use to access Live services, I get a spinning wheel. Reading other forums, there has been a lot of talk about the SIM card being the problem.

You must call to the tomtom helpdesk and they will connect your sim to your account.
I also had this problem ,but it was fixed in minutes

Update: through no action of mine at all, the SIM card sprang into life this morning, was connected to network, and I was able to access Live services. Looking through some other forums, this intermittent loss of signal seems to be a long-running Mazda TomTom issue that has never been sorted.

I have made a spare card in case my original fails, so far both keep working.
