Help with buying new tires

Our bolt pattern is 5x114.3. The wheels I got were 16x7 with a +45mm offset. The lugnuts on thecar right now are motegi, but I'm switching to open ended Kyukogen (dunno if that's how it's spelled) lugnuts from corksport.com once I get my spacers.
So anyway, how do you think you're gonna transport those stock wheels now? ;).

[threadjack]17x9!!
wowsers, would those fit AT all?
[/threadjack]

Not bad rims, I assume you'd get hyper black or matte black?
I'm lazy anyone know the weight of those in 17x7?

holly threadjackation batman. no 17x9 wont fit lol they are for rear wheel drive cars like the honda civic for instance(WARNING INTERNET SARCASM DETECTED). 17x7s are around 16-17lbs depends on what city and state u buy em from. and i dont know about the color either the hyper or matte black. which one do u guys think i should get ?

Nah I meant with spacers and extreme modification could they fit I knew it wouldn't fit like a regular car lol (sorry my fault shoulda stated something) I wouldn't want them either just thinking someone would try.

Well Hyper = Glossy Matte = Flatter
isn't that how it goes...Color of car is yellow

Really either one will do

damn those fno1r-cs would look niiiiiiice in gold or black.

what kind of tires are included in those packages ? ecsta mx ?

i got the rims. i got the 5zigens FN01R-C in hyper black with El Cheapo tires they are HandCocks hankooks. $1035 for everything installed and free unlimited tire rotation and balancing at any discountires. i got em from www.e-wheelz.com. im gonna go and get em installed tomorrow since he had to order em today. they have really good prices imo. i checked everywhere and cheapest i could find was 1150 with some other cheap tires. btw i got 17 7 5x114.3 +48mm offset and 215/45 17 tires. thats the stock size right ? oh and they weight just under 17lbs :)

Not a thread jack, more like a bumper jack... I've fit 2 in the trunk and 2 in the back seat... but I fit 5 in the trunk of an A2 Jetta once... :D

Proper tire size for 16" rims is 205/55/16, almost exactly (or really darned close) to same as OE diameter on the 215/45/17 - it may be off by 1/2% or something. I've run my H rated Semperit 205/55/16 snows on 16" P5 rims up to, ahem, let's just say "at or above the posted speed limit" with absolutely no problems whatsoever - I actually prefer them for the highway. IMHO the 16's drive "easier" with the slightly higher sidewall and more lenient slip angles - the car still handles like a slot car, but a kinder, gentler one. OK, the 17's are more girthy, make the car feel more like a slot car, but make the car feel "heavier" too. That said, I'm getting the RH's back on at the earliest opportunity.

I'd imagine a 215/50/16 would work (tirerack has 7 available in that size including a Dunlop Direzza, whatever that is), a 225 may be on the wide side and could rub.

Good luck!

Oh - and having one of those aluminum racing jacks makes this job a breeze... and they'd fit in the back seat with 2 tires, or even 3 there, one in the trunk with your diffel bag, or one in the back seat and one on the passenger seat just to show off, or even one on the roofrack for a Camel Trophy look ;)

Still wondering about BFG G Force KDW 225/45/16 on Konig 16x7" 40 offset. Has anyone run these?? I am concerned about rub since they are close to an inch wider than stock tire. I have a P5 with eibach pro kit.

I figure I should post here rather then start a new thread so I was wondering what would be the factors and differences in deciding between 17's or 16's besides looks? I don't know s*** about tires and rims and so I have been stuck with the standard 200 dollar/tire z rated that big O has chosen for me. Another importan thing that I want to ask is it just me or the treadwear on the stock tires and similar z rated tires really high? OK the first set of tires I launched a lot but now with new tires, I don't launch a lot and the tread is going quickly; like less then a year? why would anyone buy these tires when they go that quickly and cost 2x as much as regular tires that I didn
't think I could get for our cars? Any clarification would be appreciated.
