HELP-Whistle sound from engine bay

I have been having this high pitched whistling sound from the engine bay. It is there when there is no load on the engine. I usually hear it when I am at a stop.
If I apply slight throtle the sound is still there. In this sould clip I could not get the sound to stay for a long time but it is definatly there.
I had this before my Injen was put on. I do not want to take the intake off so I can go to the dealer. I thought I would ask all of you before I go through all that work.
It sounds like it might be a vacume leak, but im not sure. Here is the sound clip. I have the video that comes with this if it is needed.

Sure you haven't been talking to "Bubb Rubb?" LOL!!

Sounds like a vaccum leak due to it only happening at throttle.

Umm, how does it "sound like a blown turbo"? Oil in the i/c pipes? Lots of smoke in the exhaust? I dont think you can really say its a blown turbo because of a whine at idle.

Do you have a boost/vac gauge? If so, whats the vacuum reading at idle? Should be between 20-22mm/hg.

sorry for threadjack, but our cars run about 22 lbs vac presure... isn't that a bit much? i thought that was odd at first

I do not have a guage installed on the car. I found that if I pintched the vacume line that goes to the BPV and Wastegate the sound stops. I wonder if I am running more boost because of the leak

Nah, we just have really strong vacuum, which is a good thing. You lose vacuum, and you need to start worrying about how healthy the motor is.

Jernut, what line exactly is the one thats leaking. The wastegate line/boost source, is tee'd off to the BOV, as well as to somewhere on the intake manifold. A restriction on the wastegate side of the T will cause more boost, however if its the line to the BPV, i doubt its raising the boost.
Id take it to the dealer and have them pressure test the line, and replace with bulk hose if necessary.

if I pinch the line coming off the intake manifold the noise stops. If I pinch the line going to the wastegate, right at the wastegate, the noise stops. If I pinch it at the BPV the noise stays the same. Could it be the wastegate?

Do you think I will be safe to make a trip to canada, 6 hours each way.

I would still guess vacuum leak but it's obsurd how loud that is. Sounds to me like you need an exorcism more than a service tech.

hmm, take all vacuum hoses off, one at a time, and re-seal them, and see if the noise is still there...wierd though...I say put stock airbox back on, see if the sound still exists, then take it to the dealer
