I have a msp and I want a bigger turbo. But I don't know s*** about turbos. What kind of turbo can I put on it without blowing the engine but getting a s*** load of boost and horse?

.....none. You can turn up the boost a tad but if you get a bigger turbo and havent built the internals your asking for trouble. Plus you said you know nothing about turbos and you want to upgrade?!?!?! Give me your MSP right now.

the turbo on the car is plenty capable of blowing the engine up AS IS!!!!!!!!! the stock turbo has FANTASTIC spool speed and will easily give you 12-15psi WITH APPROPRIATE ACCOMMODATING MODIFICATIONS!!

being said.. first things you should be looking at are:
boost gauge to know your psi levels
Air / fuel ratio gauge (WIDEBAND o2 REQUIRED)
exhaust help, if even just downpipe.. stock DP is one of most restrictive parts, exhaust-wise, on these cars, very small, very tight curves..

after these are addressed.. then you can look at POSSIBLY increasing psi, which will of course give more hp.. but there has not been much success in going over 8-9 psi (10 MAXX) on stock engine block.. (cars come stock boosted at about 6 psi) ..
for this you need boost controller.. but FIRST, you must put in your research..

everyone has to start somewhere amigo, look around, ask around.. people will help!

+1 do not alter the boost at all until you upgrade the exhaust, the intercooler/charge pipes and at least a piggyback AFC or 02 clamp. Wideband and boost gauges are pretty essential as well, most upgrade to the GT28 but the motor can blow at stock boost so don't crank the boost and expect the stock rods to stay in one piece.
