ok ppl i need your help deciding which intake to buy money isn't an issue i need to know which intake offers best perofrmance overall ive narrowed it down to MS CAI, Cobb SRI, WR Dragon Intake, WR Secret weapon, AEM Cai, Fujita CAI... and others those were off my head so plz help and also recommend some for me thanks so much for your help.

intake is intake... They are pretty much the same only thing to think about is cai or sri, and even that doesn't really matter.

Towards your listed ones, MS CAI, Cobb SRI, AEM Cai, Fujita CAI are the most appreciated and well praised around these here parts. Personally I would go for the Cobb SRI if you have no warranty otherwise, MS CAI is what I'm going for if I buy one with my warranty still in tact...with one of those hydroshield thingys if they work.

You should look at the CPE Intake, too, just to compare all the good options.

I have heard very good things about the COBB SRI as well.

Personally, I will be putting the AEM CAI on my MS3 very soon. AEM builds the mazdaspeed CAI, so those two are essentially the same.

My three recommendations would be CPE XCel CAI, AEM CAI, or COBB SRI. From what I have seen on here and in my research, those three are the best "bang for the buck" in terms of what you get for the price.

Look for an intake with an air straightener for the MAF. I know CPE's intake has it as does the SRI from COBB.

My car runs noticeably better with an intake that has an air straightener vs. when it was running an intake without one. Personally, I prefer the CPE intake. It's meaty and is designed well.

+1. Yes. Good point. Air straighteners do make a big difference.

You should definitely look at the CPE CAI if you haven't yet. It is a very good option in the intake department.

Still, I am putting the AEM CAI on my car soon. In terms of performance, AEM and CPE add about the same amount of power to your car, and I like the filter on the AEM intakes.

has anyone had any experience with weapon r because i heard they were really good and from all the posts no one mentioned them lol

I gotta ask, to those with a Mazdaspeed CAI, can you or is there any way to fit on an air straightener to the end?
I'm guessing the pipes have to be designed for one but I really want a Mazdaspeed CAI with an air straightener and a hydroshield...or just turn it into an SRI with a straightener.

I know I gotta catch up my lingo a bit here but that means on the end of the pipe right before the filter?
...er, you hook the filter onto the end of the straightener and onto the end of the pipe

I agree. Just installed an AEM CAI on my MS3 and love it. I've used them on other cars and they work well.

The whole CAI vs SRI is a debate that will live on. I however believe the intake needs to be away from the engine bay. It will then be 100% fresh air vs a SRI that does initially gulp in hot air and then requires airflow for ambient temps to drop. On the street it may not matter to some, but for me, I don't want to have any delay to await proper ambient temps.

AEM does have a great dry filter on it too.

hey i installed the aem intake on my ms3 and took off my atp sri and 3in inlet extension if anyone is intrested in buying the 3in inlet im selling it for 150 it goes on there website for 250+ also the pcv valve return is pluged with a fitting so no worries
