2008 CX9 Blue Mica GT w/moonroof, bose, nav & 101% satisfaction
it use to be doing ok when i connected my blackberry and using the hands-off bluetooth function of cx9. but just the other day, when i connected my blackberry phone, it got through but freezes up the audio and navi function. it just show the icon of connected phone.

i've tried already to reset it. deleted the phone and paired it again. turn on/off the engine. but still freezes whenever i connected my phone.

i've got a GT cx9 2008.

thanks, any assistance greatly appreciated.

I assume that you have NAVI display.

Here is how to get into diagnostic mode:
> Turn the ignition switch to ACC or ON position
> Turn the POWER button off (the one for audio)
> While pressing the POWER button (to turn it on since you just turned it off),
simultaneously press the SEEK button (lower side) and the SCAN button for 2 secs or more
> (now you are in the diagnostic mode)
> To stop the on-board diagnostic test mode, turn the ignition switch to OFF position

In the dignostic mode, present malfunction is displayed on NAVI MFD
Just follow the pages and bowse thru it.

If there is any error showing
26:Er81: CAN bus Fail
26:Er82: MIC short
26:Er83: MIC P Fail
26:Er84: MIC off
26:Er85: Button Stack
26:Er86: Self Test (malfunction)
no Err: OK

26: means "present malfunction".
Er: means "error"

There are more procedures to test if those do not address it.
Let us know.

ceric - do you have this info for non-NAV cx-9s? My bluetooth has been acting up recently as well (can't pair my phone anymore after it worked fine for 6 months)

DId you try to re-pair it?
I mean, remove the pairing from both ends, and restart from scratch.

Same step 1 and 2,
For step 3,
> while pressing the POWER button, simultaneously press the RPT button and the PRESET 2 button for 3 or more secs.

The error will be display on the audio display.
To get out of it, again, turn off ignition.

ceric, looks like I don't have a PRESET button on my non-nav 09 GT (see pic of my radio). I tried different combinations with the RPT button but nothing was working to get me into diagnostic mode. Any ideas?

p.s. - i have tried re-pairing by deleting and re-pairing the saved device on both the car and phone. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. when it does work, call quality is not usable for a call.

My bad.
It should be "PRESET 2" button. The one labelled with "2".
The RPT button is the one above "Clock" (with ">||"), according to the figure on my 2008.
However, on your 2009, the RPT is on the "PRESET 4". I wonder which one you should try.
Maybe ask someone with a 2009 WorkShop manual.

What I put down is the description for 2008 model.

For the record, on the 2009 touring (without nav) it's preset 2 and >||

On mine I suddenly cannot connect anymore. If I try to delete and re-pair, the system prompts me until I get to the pairing options and then simply cuts out. So I cannot even delete all the old pairs and start over.
After following ceric's steps I get the error
22:Er07
anyone know what that means? or if there is a way to reset?
If not, is it best to call Mazda's "bluetooth help line" from the manual or take it to the dealership?

anyone seen that error message #, or have the service manual to look it up? just posting primarily to get the spammer's offensive name off as the last post contributor. His post was deleted but his name still shows up as the last poster.

remi:
I am a bit confused. I thought you have a BT problem, but...

According to the 2008 WorkShop manual, DTC=> 22:Er07 is
"CD reading error:
- defective CD (curved, broken, or foreign material stuck/attached, etc.)
- MP3 applicable CD changer malfunction
"
(of course, this is assuming that 2009 and 2008 models have the same error code set)

Maybe the defective MP3 capable CD changer is messing up the CAN-bus comminication.
Definitely have the dealer take a look-see.

fyi my bluetooth issue was a problem with my phone and not the car. Got a new phone and it works fine now.
