and I popped off one of my needles ( the one for temp ) and I cant get it back on....

I need suggestions on what to do about the needle ans where to get the plastic part (besides the dealer)

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

ummmmm....

Heyummmmm to start ya off i'm gunna say that i am not for sure on how to answer u but can try and point u in the right direction. Try searching for it cuz i do remember someone doing the same thing as u did. Don't mean to be critical but, I can't think of a time when someone has been doing the indiglo guages and not broken something. So good luck.

man.. indiglos are all bad.. thats why i just ordered overlays.. u can cut them to fit over the needles. -=) anyhow..a bout your first question the only place i can thing to get that part is at the dealer.. unless u can go to a junkyard and hope they have something there. second thing.. i believe that once the needles come off they are done correct? i remember when i was trying to hook up my 91 accord 2 door (LoL) i tried to make customer guages on my computer an i ripped the needles off.. when i put them back on i never knew how hot my car was, how much gas i had, how fast i was goin.. it was all bad.. so good luck to you.. call your dealer where u are at.. an get a price.. an if u want.. pm me .. an ill call a dealer here.. if i can get u a better price maybe i can get it for you an ship to you.. think about it.
John

hmmmm... I would take the whole gauge cluster out and go from there, or you can go to your dealer and say " this thing be broked fix it!!!" They will prolly all make fun of you and charge you an arm and a leg but at least they know what to do, ya know good luck!!!

Tisk tisk. The gauges are done for. You are either gonna have to live with a broken needle and get a new plastic piece or replace the whole gauge cluster and plastic piece. I believe it is around $350 to get a new one. Pretty much a dealer piece unless you get really lucky somewhere. Sorry to hear bout your luck.

P.S. CD is just "aight " j/k

yeah you're pretty much screwed. Better shell out the $$ to get OEM stock parts, or if you want, buy the Mazdaspeed gauge cluster!

another word of advice: next time ASK here first or do a SEARCH for instructions before doing anything. Or get a copy of the shop manual

good luck with the repair

lol, i find that post to be funny, although it wouldnt be if it was me :)

DEFINITELY go junk yard hunting

or go to your dealership and tell them the piece shattered in cold weather.....best of luck to you since you are in MD :)
maybe since u are a babe tho you could give em the ole wink and twirl of the hair and they will buy it

at any rate, i wish you the ebst of luck with the rest of your future mods. Be sure to have your friends around when you try some of the other ones.....especially the moonroof, that could get messy.

There would be 2 logical options here. 1. Go buy one from the dealer. 2. Come to my house and prove you are a horny devil and you can have mine. Thank you and have a nice night.

Dissregard the above. We are here to help! I just have never got to use that picture! :D In all seriousness, I made the mistake of getting Indiglo gauges, and messed up my gauges. It cost me about $320 total to replace them...and that's with a hookup! The total cost would be around $400 usually. If you can find a cluster at a junkyard, you will be lucky!! Most clusters I saw at the junkyard were black-faced (pre 2001). I accually have posted a few times about this experience, and I wish you would have found out before it happened to you. Sorry bro.:(

Sorry girl!;) Do you have a picture?

By the way, don't waste your time trying to replace the needle, you are gonna have to replace the whole cluster. It comes with everything you need. You'll only have to plug it in.

This situation is sad for a few reasons.....

one....a LOT of people have had this bad experience....and had you known what you were headed off into you MAY have decided not to try it....

unfortuantely the gauges are toast....

NOW the REALLY bad part is NOW there is a set of indiglow faces that you do NOT need to remove the needles for!!! the holes are large enough to slip over our needles.....I WOULD post a link to the thread on another board that has all the information...but its down at the moment....I will return here with the link after the other borad is back up and running...

and Babe...if you find that you can get the clear part from a dealer seperately from the guages.....please post up the part number here and its price....if that is the route you end up going.

MY clear cover has a few scratches on it....its been that way since the day I picked it up....just didn't notice it right away..... and if I could, I would replace it if it were reasonable.

Okay Missy....didnt you learn anything from me?!?!? Youre in luck....I just happen to have an extra lens, cause I had to buy an extra gauge cluster. Hit me up. Then again, if you popped your needles off, its curtains for that gauge cluster. I can direct you to a place where you can get a new cluster for a good price.

Hey Buddy!!!
Get I get the clear plastic from ya......name the price.
Not too much tho...Imma po woman!
i'll even come and pick it up from ya!
but not today, cause its bad out...and not to mention the fact that I just hit a curb. No damage tho. Not that I can see at least.
Man I have bad luck!:(

PS: only one of the needles fell off. the temp one.. The other still work so I think that I might just wait a bit before I replace em.

Babe, you poor thing. But, golly, I DO admire your spirit. This one didn't work out for you but don't let it discourage you from trying other projects. There's just something about doing it yourself. But don't forget to search here first and use your friends knowledge to advance the species.

Rascal Appler (not!)

ok listen... i got a couple friends at the mazda dealership and u DONT have to buy the whole gauge... our gauge can be bought in sections... the temp/gas section, mphs section, rmps section... all u gotta do is buy the section thats broken...

I too need to buy the temp/gas Section... i've just been lazy...

glad i could help

Isnt that something.....I got mine from Procarparts.......Ya think they sent me the wrong kind.......?

No...not really....they sent you what THEY HAD.....its just that there is something DIFFERENT out now.....you would have had to been VERY specific with them as far as brand and model number to be able to say that they sent you the WRONG part.
