Help me choose HU

Kenwood KVT-817DVD

Pioneer AVH-P7600DVD


I am down to these 3 HUs and I can't decide which one to get. Does anyone have any one of these or have any pros and cons on them?

I added the Pioneer because of the auto diagnostics attachment it has. I would like to add that someday, but I read the installation and can't figure out how it connects to the car to read tac, speed, ect... Anyone know how it connects? Or know if the others have the same kind of accessory, I have looked but found nothing for them.

I took a quick glance. I'd take the clarion over a Kenwood any day and I couldn't find a reason to do otherwise in this case. If you are having trouble making up your decision, find a store that carries each of these (may not be the same store) and play around with them. You'll know within a minute or two whether it feels right to you. Ease of use is not something that can be displayed in a specifications list and I find that clarion has a better track record for useability than some of the other brands.

i d go with the clarion to,for the last years,clarion has came back in the top 5 of automotive audio,with many technology s that others still dont have,reliability,affordable price,and i ve listen to many makes,but let me tell you,clarion is for my taste in the top 3(my tastes,alpine,clarion,pioneer)....kenwood,well,maybe the top 10,i simply cant figure how one of the biggest audio company cant make a reliable cd player under the 700-800$ bar.....just look for the ones that they put in the mazdaspeed,simply crap,nothing else to say.....(pissed)

Im pretty happy with the 25th anniv. edition headunit I got. I had a pioneer 860mp before that, and id buy the kenwood over the pioneer again in a heartbeat.

I have also been toying with the idea of a double din lcd dvd HU. Does anyone know if it is possible to take the single din and cut out the cubby to make it a double din? Or does anyone sell a double din for the 3?

I havnt seen any double din dash kits for the 3 yet, but making one would be easy. And as far as which HU to go with, ive got the Pioneer AVIC-N1 and love it. That new pioneer looks sweet, i would go with that. The only thing that sucks is tht now all the HU's have that BS where you cant access most of the features while the cars moving.

Thanks for the info. I think I may actually get that one. The AVIC-N1 allows you to view DVD while driving? If so, that will probably be my new HU.
