Yes, there is a factory alarm upgrade that is plug & play that adds all 5 door entry coverage, starter kill, shock sensor for glass breakage & an LED. It uses the horn instead of a siren. Scored NIB for 47.00 off ebay awhile back. One of the best things I've done for it. People have complained about it sucking but have had no problems with mine. Uses same key fob. Made by codealarm. I may have pic of the kit with part number on it, lemme check.............

Nope, not standard. All you do is unplug some connections on the wiring harness & the alarm harness has 2 plugs to plug in in between the other wiring harness. Only 1 single wire was a splice connector you squeeze onto a parking light wire then the alarm harness plugged into that. Only other thing was drillin a hole for the LED wherever you want it to be. I had a foglight panel blank that had an LED in already that I replaced the coin holder with. I just pulled that LED out since it was connected to nothing & popped the alarm upgade LED into the hole. Clip the alarm harness for the trunk pin swith on MSPs & hook the other part of that to your door pin switch on the front door. Did some test procedure in the instructions & that was it.
