HELP!! HKS Turbo Timer Install issues

Alright, so I decided I wasn't gonna buy anything cheap for this car AT ALL and bought a black HKS type-0 turbo timer. I read through everyone's how-to guides a bunch of times, installed, and I must have done something wrong. The car beahves completely normally except the turbo timer turns on and works, just the engine dies when I turn the key to off. I took some pics cause step-by-step seemed to be lacking the other DIYs.

1. Like everyone else suggested, I removed the mazdaspeed sill and left pannel by the dead pedal.

2. I drilled into the back of the tray with the OBD-II and fed the 4 wires I needed through the hole. There is a ton of stuff back there and took me a while. I eventually pulled it all through with a wire hanger. I am not using the e-brake or rpm (auto mode) wires, so I trimmed them and tucked under the unit for now. You should have black, red, green, and blue wires

3. Take apart the steering column (3 screws). I used 16 gauge wire taps. Connect the following.....
red (tt) -> black/red (MS3)
green (tt) -> green/yellow (MS3)
blue (tt) -> yellow (MS3)

4. Ground the black tt wire to the 10mm bolt ground under the left pannel.

***If I did something wrong, PLEASE post up. Like I said the car runs just like there is no tt there. The timer itself functions, but shuts off with the car.

Also, mine hangs out, how did you guys get it to fit like this????? And I thought the black special edition had red display.... guess I'm gonna have to get some film.....

Fine, I'll take pity on you so you won't feel so e-lonely.

Don't you have to ground the e-brake wire if you're not using it? The TT might be waiting for the signal that the brake is engaged to initiate the countdown and bypass the ignition.

I lawl'd.

yeah

Oh yeah, my bad, all I had to do was ground the ebrake cable. Got it all fixed up last night!

:: thumbs up ::

I was either going to get HKS or GReddy, but heard the GReddy didn't fit as easily, maybe I got it backwards, I am Lysdexic (let's see who catches that). I bought the HKS for two reaons

1. Told myself I wasn't gonna buy crap, questionable, or "ebay brand" products for this car

2. I really wanted the black one and thought it lit up red all the time. Nope, it's white and flashes to red during the countdown......

you're killin me. I agree with the desire for a black one to match the car dash. Mine is silver tho, but lights up red all the time. I had no idea that HKS would be red, I know greddy can change colors from blue to red, but I didnt know about HKS.

Ebay has some high quality stuff mang, the one i got was like $25 shipped, its silver tho as opposed to black

Yeah, I saw you got yours on ebay and it looks good, but again, I only wanted stuff that I could be 100% sure about the quality of. I went through 3 sets of ebay headers on my Integra, kind of a long story.
