does anyone watch this. i got into it last season, and have not missed an episode this season. its the only reality show i have ever watched or intrigued me enough to try and watch it. i do not cook or watch any other cooking show. i just like it. so anyone else watch it. im pulling for van!(dance)

Ive watched every episode.

the first season was the best becuase it was more "real" becuase everyone had some skill and it wasnt like it is now. but this season is a bit better.

Ya i've watched the show for a long time. Bob is right in that they have very few real chefs now battling it out. If i was the owner of the restaurant that got the winner of this season i'd be worried. No real experience on alot of the people. Ramsey cracks me up.

good morning mark......

the first season was great and it wasnt exec chef job as the prize. you know what it was like $50K or something like that and the winner brian i think his name was, was offered to work under ramsey in london for a year instead.

he took that becuase he was smart and knew that learning from one of the best is worth much more then a few bucks.

then the show fed into the US's need for drama and yelling and what not. so the show basiclly sold out and jumped the shark. that bothers me more then anything which is why i do learn more towards Top Chef oveer hells kitchen but I do like cooking competitions.

Hells kitchen does so remind me of culinary school. ahh good times.

a side note:

Ever watch kitchen nightmares on BBC? so much better. no yelling, no drama. ramsey being himself and its more interesting becuase its real. not all over the top.

I'm not a huge fan...Ramsey tends to play it up way too much for the cameras I think, and at the end of the day, the chefs aren't really standout talented. I prefer Top Chef...the best of the best judge there, and there's a lot less manufactured drama. The contestants are more talented and experienced too.

I've watched kitchen nightmares a few times. The wife and i like food shows. Anthony Bordain,Man vs Food, Anthony Zimmerman and so on. She likes watching the competitions.

I thought this was going to be a thread about the Hells Kitchen section of Manhattan.

Like i said before. If i was the owner of the restaurant that the winner of this one gets to run i'd be worried. These are nice restaurants that Ramsey is placing these people into. Ain't no Golden Corral.

ever read bourdains books?

I forget the name of one of them but it was excellent. he really is a talented writer and it really tells you how he did get no reservations.

I nejoy man vs food, he is a good host but for the challanges.... not so good. he can handle the heat but back when i was a heavy eater i could have put him to shame.

couldnt get into Zimmerman. he is a cool guy just not my thing.

Watch kitchen nightmares on BBC America. its excellent

your right these "chefs" on hells kitchen wouldnt stand a day in a realy kitchen which is why they are under a contract for like a year and i think only heather and season 1 are still working. but I think heather isnt anymore a exec chef.

we watch hell's kitchen, man vs. food, top chef, kitchen nightmares, the F word, etc.

while gordon does seem to go overboard for the camera in HK (it's a reality show...isn't he supposed to?), his other shows are really enjoyable. it's fun to watch the morons on HK get yelled at...although i can't stand to see suzanne's face...her mouth is ef'd up...van does stand a pretty good chance of winning...it's either him or the bald guy (forgot his name) out of the guys and ariel out of the girls...she seems to fly under the radar and gets the job done.

I love watching Kitchen Nightmares. Very different, likeable side to Ramsey on that show. He's there because he wants them to succeed.

I love Anthony Bourdain. Bought his book "The Nasty Bits" for Taylor for Christmas and he read it cover to cover. I'm reading it now but haven't finished it yet. Very well written.

Oh and it's Andrew Zimmern. :p

He started this season off here in San Antonio. His challange was at a place called Chunkys. I've been there alot and damn good burgers. He challanged the "5 horsemen" burger and won. Everyone at work wants me to do it because i pretty much live off hot food. They all tell me to try certain hot sauces for my tacos or bring their own and that stuff only barely warms my mouth while they are crying. He can eat very hot s*** and that 5 horsemen burger? If he backed off after the first bite it's gotta be hot. He still finished, but he was hurtin'.

The hot sauce my wife makes for me:
20 Serranos
4 Bluebonnet chilies
1 Roma tomatoe
Garlic and salt
If i'm home when she makes it i try to piss her off. It's an old hispanic thing if your mad rub the chilies to bring out more heat. I'll ask her if she has put on weight....that always works! (rofl2)
