Mazda6 vs crashes

Hello. I have come here for information regarding the blackbox or "blackbox big brother" device on the Mazda 6.

Last night a guy driving a 2005 Mazda 6 slammed into my car at approx 60MPH in a 15mph zone.

Keep in mind this was in a residental area while I was pulling out. My wife is in the hospital still as she has some minor neck injuries and was sitting on the passenger side.

However I am being held equally responsible because I did not yield at a driveway (state law/statue) Therfore I am looking for information regarding the blackbox device that records speed, and braking information since the Mazda is near totalled and I am sure that the information is there and can be used aganist the guy and to go after the insurance company of the other driver.

Here is a thread I saw:

I'm sorry about your accident man, I hope everything is ok with your wife. I'm not sure of any blackbox in the mazda 6, but I'm going to do some research. If you want a quicker answer, you may want to PM a member of ours Crossbow who is our forum's mazda6 tech guru. He'll get back to you right away.

If the speeding driver who hit you is not claiming full responsability... The first step you need to do is locate the statues and laws that hold you responsable for not yielding to him...

For example, California is a no fault state... if you rear end someone.. no matter the cause.. they could have slammed on their breaks in the middle of a busy freeway... you are at fault for hitting them... if they roll backwards INTO your car... in many cases you are at fault.... As stupid as it sounds...

So read the letter of the law... My guess is, considering how lax and broad laws can be... you are probably at fault.. and will have to deal with it... HOWEVER...

if the area is 15 mph.. and he was doing over 60.. thats well over 2x the speed limit.. In oregon, you lose your license for up to 5 years I think... for doing 2x the speed limit.... You might not get much help for your wife.. but you can probably keep that f*cker off the road for a good 5 years or so...

fell sorry for you
good luck

side note: pissed if there indeed a big brother box.
another way the insurances will jack up the prices :bs:
