helldrives...

Seattle - Santa Barbara on a 2005 GSX-R 750 20th anniversary edition. 21 hours of hell. It started to rain 20 miles from my destination.

I went down for coachella. The line up was TOOL, and DAFT PUNK!

There ya go, I did just under 700 miles on a yamaha SR500E, setup with a opentop box on the back housing my 45lb 4-legged traveling companion

8 hrs Vegas to Grand Canyon - Dodge Durango (biggest POS ever)
16hrs NYC to Myrtle Beach - Honda Pilot
10hrs NYC to Cleveland - Honda Pilot
8hrs NYC to Mont Tremblant - MS3
7hrs NYC to Smugglers Notch - MS3 (in 2 weeks)

18 hours in a 24' Budget rental truck pegged out at 65 MPH from Nashville, TN to Victoria, TX. Not fun at all.

I feel your pain. I only did 10 hrs at a time going from Georgia to Las Vegas. Mine did top out @ 70 tho which was a plus. The 8 MPG was not.

the worst drives are when you desperatley have to poop.

uh huh...by far thee worst

I go Road Warrior style- I only stop when the gas gauge is below 1/4 tank. If I am hungry or need to use the facilities, it waits until I stop for gas. And if I am hungry, I either get food at the gas station or a nearby drive-thru, and I eat while I drive. I don't do meal breaks.

totally agree, especially when you're by yourself like i would drive from nc to de. of course, eating fast food whilst driving makes me refer back to the first quote in this post

I have done many 10-12 hour drives. Those are no big deal.

In July I drove straight back from FL to IL....18 hours. About as long as I would be willing to drive without sleep.

My almost 21hr drive was a tandem, my friend and i switched up every state only stopping for gas/food/restroom but the longest ive driven myself was 18hrs straight from destin fl to detroit, i forgot about that one.

Yeah, I have done some tandem/tag-team drives that lasted over 20 hours, but I didn't bother to mention them. I'd easily opt for a 24-hour tandem drive than 14-16 hours solo. Much easier to handle.

I've been wanting to join 2 different car club rallies in Vegas, and I keep threatening to drive all the way there. One of these years, I'm gonna do it. That one's obviously gonna involve a couple of stops, though.

great time
port charlotte to streamwood takes me 23

Driven from Detroit to Charleston, sc (or vice-versa) about 6 times. 3 in the MS3, 2 in a liberty, and 1 in a Malibu. All except the trip in the Malibu were driving solo. Max of 16hrs, min somewhere around 13.5hrs. The trip in the Malibu, I stopped in KY and bought my SRT4.

Was passenger on a trip from Lansing to Portland. Can't remember how long it took (2 days I think); I slept most of the time (spent the week prior pulling all nighters 3 out of 5 days). We weren't planning to stop for the night, but we had some trailer issues and didn’t want to risk it. Definitely not comfortable trying to sleep in a conversion van with 5 other people at a rest stop.

Passenger from Lansing to auburn, AL (14hrs I think). On the return trip, someone put premium in the diesel truck...didn't make it more than .5 mile from the gas station. Stupid mistake due to exhaustion.

Southeastern MA to Tail of the Dragon for EECMM 2009

17+ hours. I had the longest drive out of everyone who came.

18 hrs straight through from Quakertown, PA to Valley Grande, Alabama for Christmas and back 18 hrs five days later.

Jacksonville FL and back. (picked up a motorcycle) It was in a full sized GMC with 33 inch off road tires and very sloppy steering. I split the time with my father in law but it was 21 hours up and back. I drove the second leg.

Longest in a row with just me was Tampa to Stafford va. it was 15 hours with traffic. I was in an 81 Scirocco.

this past may I drove 10.5 hours one way with a 9 month old baby. Do I win something for that one?
