Heated Seat Question

2023 CX-5 Carbon. I don't have a wiring diagram and would like to ask before I take the seat out to discover. My desire is to disconnect the bottom cushion heater and keep the backrest heater. Question is: are both heaters wired together or do they have separate plugs where I can disconnect the seat cushion heater? Thanks for anyone willing to offer an answer.

From my wiring diagrams, it looks like the 2 panels are hard-wired in parallel. No separate connectors. Sorry.

RedBaron, thanks, now I know I will need to separate the circuits. Looks like three heating units? Guessing one for the seat and two for the back? May as well add a switch in case I want it to work again. Thanks, Tom
No, just 2 heaters, the third thing (rounded outline) is a temperature-sensing thermistor. I'm not sure where that's located, but it may be on the bottom cushion/element, in which case it would be dangerous to disconnect that bottom element!

All in all, this is a very bad idea. It could disrupt any current sensing in the controller and have unknown effects. If your butt is getting too hot, just get a seating pad to insulate it!

Ohhh, thanks again. I'm sure it will be more obvious once I lay eyeballs on whatever wires of connectors are there. Probably more trouble than the benefit I will get but sometimes I just get bored and want to fix or change things. I'm ancient and need things to do sometimes. haha

You replied as I was editing my response. Please reread.

Just say no! :)
Very good point, with all the sensors and electronics at the very minimum it could turn on some annoying warning light that would be more bothersome than the seat too hot. Thanks for that warning. I'll just live with it. Thanks Again.
