Headlights!

The p5's have really good headlights to begin with, very little glare from them. True though that a retrofit with some projector would be better, but we can't win them all.

i think it is b/c the h7 halogen bulb has the filament running front to back so the difference isnt as much as say glare from a bulb that has the filament running side to side.

When you switch over to HIDs, do most people just go for the lowbeams, or can you get a highbeam version too?

It's best to keep your high as halogen. When you need to flash someone, it better to run it that way. The HID's have a warm up time, and turning them on and off fast could damage them. They also need to cool down before you turn them on again.

you wont need HID high beams. high beams are bright enough already. HIDs may even eliminate your need for highbeams. plus what altezza said

cool. I Just ordered some Osram Silverstars, but that $130 hid kit for sale is very tempting!

I kept blowing halogen bulbs on this car (Reason why I got HID's) The silver stars only lasted me three months.

I think the article is partially wrong. When you HID retrofit you try to install hids as if they were stock. People usually use OEM parts for that.

yes. they used retrofit as in fit HIDs in a halogen socket, and uses that as the basis for it's argument
