I bought a set of PIAA Sup Plasma GT's last year, one recently burnt out (got less than a year)...in the process of researching new ones (screwed on warranty because I bought them from japan) I noticed that the GT's run off 60/55=135/125 watt whereas other bulbs run 55/60=100/110...
Would the fact that I was running the higher wattage with our car (probably not designed for/able to handle it) cause the burn out? and in general what is the difference between the swapping of the 55 and 60 in the figures? Any technical insight would be great, and educational.
Any rec's on a replacement pair? (I loved the GT's, but wouldn't pay another $80 to see it burn out again if its not the right bulb)
Thanks everyone...:)

i know from previous expierence in the restaurant with high power light bulbs--

if you use a bulb with a higher rating than recommended, the light will tend to have a shorter life.

Maybe this is jsut bulbs we use for high power applications, may apply here.

Our bulbs cost $400+ so we gotta be CAREFUL :)

My PIAAs usualy only last 6 months. I swapped to cheap ass sylvanias.

Yeah, I've got the sylvanias in there now, they were the original upgrade from stock, but comparitively they fall way short of the PIAA's...NH, what type of PIAAs were only lasting you 6mos?

The ones with Japanese writting all over them, can't remember there model number.

Yeah I just swapped mine to the Philips Xtra Visions. They are like 10 bucks each if even that much. From my experience, PIAA, RAZO, and all lights that say they emulate HID are crap and don't last much longer than 6 months if you are lucky. I'm afraid to upgrade to HID because of not having the correct reflectors. So for now I am only going to stick with bulbs made by reputable manufacturers. (Philips, GE, Sylvania, etc.)

Crazy, I thought and most other people agree that PIAA is very high on the quality scale...(not only on the import scene, but offroading as well)
