Since my car seems to be a complete pile of crap ever since I put the headers on I was just wondering who all has headers installed on their cars and what problems came to fallow and how you fixed it. I know thats alot but I am completely lost and the car hasn't been driven in over a month because I'm so tired of it... Thanx guys!

Without any explanation of the problems, how the hell are we gonna know??? Got a CEL??? Rough Idle??? Vacuum Leak???

#1 solution...Remove header...

No one that I know of has gotten a header(no s) and had their car turn into a pile of crap. Pics and an explination of your problems would help...thanks:)

EDIT: better yet, just answer these questions for me...

What is your car doing now that it wasnt doing before the install?
What brand is the header?
Who/where did you purchace it?
Who installed it?
Did you re-use all your gaskets or get new ones?
Are you getting a CEL?
If its an OBX did you use the non-fouler?
Do you have any other exhaust or intake mods?
Are you sure its the header and not anything else?

I just replied to your dbl post...but again, what are you experiencing, cuz I only had a slight fitment issue that I quickly fixed. Everything else was perfect and I am happy.

Yea,since I put on my header,my car has much more pep and more "Zoom-Zoom",haha!It's great!

Alright check it out, I installed it they are OBX headers and I bought them at OBX... The car was getting the emmissions code 0247 or what ever and I put in a mil elimantor and it went away but it was shortly greated with a 0300 (random multiple misfire code) SO I changed the entitre ignition system (coils, wires, plugs), that didnt work so i changed both o2 sensors and reinstalled another mil eliminator, that didnt work so I changed the pcv valve the Maf and the Idle sensors.... And I'm in the process of cleaning the egr valve... SO basically the car starts runs fine for a minute then trips out and jumps all over in the rpms and studders and attempts to stall...

What gasket did you use when you put the header on. OBX supplies a gasket, make sure you use that. If all else fails grab a little telescopic mirror and look under the header where it connects to the head and see if you have black marks. you might have a major exhaust leak.

Um, call me crazy, but did you try putting your stock manifold back on? That will tell you if it's the exhaust or not.

the insane idle is most commonly attributed to a dirty EGR valve so I hate to say it but you might have waited till last to actually fix the problem. Let us know if a good valve cleaning remedies you're issues.

Man I hate hearing this crap when my next mod will be the OBX header/ MIL eliminator. Too bad protegegarage.com wont have them for two months....

Look up non-fouler on forums. It may work better than the MIL eliminator. I have been throwing a CEL for about 6 mo now...

Its more than likly not caused by the header, you will be fine man:) OBX FTW!

cool, but in case I want to get it sooner, and I know you rep protegegarage, but where can I get the OBX header?

I tried the non fouler deal and it worked fine untill I put in Bosch o2 sensors so I moved to the mil eleminator and I dont get an emissions code anyways its only the missfire... Anyway I didnt have time to put the egr back in so I'll have to post the news on it tomorrow! Thanx for the help, I'm going to check the header and make sure it isn't leaking or anything

I would say just wait and get it from Ken if at all possible. Hes great to deal with and can work out and warranty issues you may have in the future. I just wouldn't feel safe getting it too many other places, and you usually can't beat Ken on the price anyways:)

You sure doesn't have anything to do with the VICS screw failure thing? Do or did you have any knocking or anything sounding loose in your engine at anytime durring this?
