Im highly considering getting headers for my 2006 3 and concerned about throwing a code, does anyone have headers and not throwing a code? If so then that brand

do a search man... all headers are going to throw a code b/c you are removing the primary converter. some have built in fixes, like thunder though it doesn't work b/c the 02 sensor is so far away from the exhaust stream that it doesn't get enough heat so if you go that route i can tell you how to fix it. the vibrant and obx i believe a simple spark plug anti fouler will work to space the 02 sensor far enough out of the exhaust stream to make it think the converter is there and working correctly...

yea I'd like to know in reguards to the thunder headers cause within a few weeks I will be installing mines.

ask away man if you look at the picture of the midpipe it comes with it has a long 90* elbow coming off of it and its just to far away from the exhaust stream if you were to cut it down and just use the threaded part welded to the midpipe it will probably be fine... the based this design off of the protege design which must have a less sensitive 02 sensor. if you have a budy that can weld it will probably take all of 10 mins to fix. you may have to lengthen your wires to the 02 sensor though as i haven't yet done that to mine i just live with the cel cause its not a big deal at all.

someone on another thread was saying they had a 3 with the obx headers and couldnt get it not to throw a code even with the fouler
