Hey guys, couple HD radio questions:

Does the 2010s come with HD radio or at least HD ready/compatible?

Does anyone know of a third party HD radio device that might still be controlled using the steering wheel buttons; as well as panel preset buttons?

Is there any clean HD radio solution out there for the CX 9?

Thanks "Sport..." (Galaxy Grey Rocks btw), the only device I've found that would do what I'd like to do is the Axxess AHDT-01 tuner, with the AHDH-MZ1 harness and AHDI-I01 interface.

I'd be interested to see if the steering controls would work with this; also if it would work with the display... No tagging though, but I can live without that... What do you think about this setup?

Also, do we know who is the manufacture of our radio? I have the 6CD changer, 10 spkr BOSE w/o Nav...

For the life of me, I cannot understand why OEM's won't include HD Tuners! It's such a no brainer. A real point of frustration for me.

If you go to that site you will see that more makers are including HD radio. It will be standard in a few years. Like with Sat, car makers want to make sure it's a viable medium before they commit to it.

For now, I'd get the portable and be able to use it in different cars. Then get built in HD in my next car.
I don't understand how HD radio is questionable regarding its future. One would think that these car manufacturers would jump on it and at least use it as a marketing incentive like "built in CD player"...

As for a portable player, we only have one car and just got it less than 2 months ago and will not be in the market for the "next" car at least for the next 7-10 years. I think it might be worth the investment if an upgrade can be made where no setup is required when you get in the car (power, antenna, audio connection - RF or hardwire...) I would also like to still have the steering wheel control to navigate the HD channels as well...

I really think this Axxess interface might work, it's the only HD upgrade solution that I've found that can be integrated "apparently" seamlessly with OEM systems... If I could find out who made the OEM installed radio, maybe I can find out if that manufacturer has an HD tuner upgrade solution that can be added (is it BOSE, JVC, SONY, etc...?)

Just doing my home work before I decide whether to bust open my dashboard or have another wired contraption suctioned to it... (detect)

Anyone!?! (dunno)
