Haunted Blower

I've seen the threads about AC suddenly blasting when the car is switched off ... but has anyone else had a problem with the blower starting to blast unexpectedly while you're driving along? (wow) Doesn't seem to be predictable (that is, not due to a sudden blast of sunshine or temp change) and I can't cause it to happen, which is going to make talking to the dealer fun ... also monkeys with my auto settings so that things then need to be reset.

Thanks for sharing any experience!

I'd say maybe it's the resistor that controls the blower, but make sure that the blower is actually operating before it starts blowing full blast. I had a problem with my front blower, it would work when turned on, but then it would stop blowing even though the display said it was blowing, and would not turn on even though I would change the fan speed settings. Then it would come on full blast by itself after a few minutes. This happened after my AC drain got plugged up, water backed into the blower, so I assume something got screwed up. I even changed the resistor that controls that blower, still have the issue, so it could be the blower motor in my case (which is a $600 kick in the...)
