I bought my 9 on 12/26/07. I have the 08 AWD GT with all the bells and whistles (navigation, auto dim, bsm, rails, all weather mats, sat radio, towing, wheel locks, etc...) Decent deal, 37K after much negotiation.
I plan on suing Mazda and my dealer. First of all, this vehicle is causing me stress because when I'm driving, particularly in crowded or congested areas, I find that people are always staring at me. At first I thought it was a good thing, figuring it was because of my good looks, but as it turned out its only because of the good looks of my 9. Women have been looking at my 9 more than me lately. What's wrong with me? This is unacceptable.
Secondly, my 9 is causing me to gain weight. With my RWD 2000 Nissan Xterra I could never get up my driveway in snow. I always had to shovel before getting into my garage. Now, there's now need to shovel before getting up my driveway. My 9 just went up my inclined driveway with 5 inches of snow like it was a summer day. Shoveling the driveway use to be good exercise. Who is going to pay for my expanding waist line?
Thirdly, because of the size of my 9 I worry about those who park around me at work and shopping centers. This has caused me to park in remote sections of parking lots away from others. In this remote area I meet other people with the same problem as me. Usually well to do people with nice vehicles. We talk sadly about our problem as we walk the long distance to the other side of the parking lot. I guess this is how Mazda makes up for causing me to not have to shovel my driveway. Pathetic.
Fourthly, this vehicle has too much giddy up. It starts off a bit slow but once it gets going I'm doing 85mph and do not realize it. Being able to downshift at my will has caused me to drive more aggressively. I'm sure this was an unintended consequence created by Mazda, but I hate it nonetheless.
Lastly, this 9 is causing problems with my wife. The seats hug me in a way that is too explicit for this forum. Shame on Mazda for making such an R rated vehicle. In fact, about 2 weeks ago after a long day and arriving home in the middle of the night, I was too tired to go in the house and fell asleep for an hour in my 9. Good grief, doesn't Mazda know this can make my wife suspicious of me! To top it off, my wife called me while I was asleep in my 9 in the garage and this loud voice comes over the speakers saying 'You have an incoming call...' Woke me up from a good dream. In my last vehicle I would not have even known my cell phone was ringing.
Those are just a few of the reason I hate my CX-9. I won't even mention the problems the dual climate control and the navigation system has caused between my wife and I. She no longer nags me about the temperature and stopping to get directions. Well...maybe that's the one good thing.(screwy)
I have an appointment with my attorney next week to see what actions I can take against Mazda for making such a vehicle.
Does anyone else hate their 9 like me? (cabpatch)
