German based BMW Group tuning specialist Hartge first showed us off-the-shelf parts for the 1-Series coupe when it was first released, and then shortly followed with the aerodynamics kits. Now Hartge have developed an ECU upgrade for BMW's already potent 3.0-liter bitrubo engine in the 135i coupe releasing an additional 44hp.

The result is a total of 350hp at 5660 rpm and 480 Nm (lb-ft 354) at 2950 rpm. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) arrives in 4.8 seconds – a half second faster than its standard 5.3 seconds. Also, an unrestricted top speed allows 280 km/h (174mph).

Hartge states that a 135i fully equipped with the entire suite of components will cost in Germany € 48,162.14, excluding VAT.

only a 44hp increase. That is not much with software. I would still take it.

When will the 20s>* trend die? There was a time when matching the wheel size to the vehicle was important. Now it just seems that everyone wants to cram 20s under them. Are there even good performance tire options in a 20?

I sell both Pirelli PZero Nero Summers and Yokohama Advan Sport that are available in 20s. These wheels are available from 18" to 20"s.

Pretty lame tune. Fugly wheels and the most aneimic ECU upgrade yet for the car.

I do like the dual exhaust though.

ahhh...I've been doing some research with other performance software for the 135i and they are all 40hp. The Split Second Turbo tuner that I sell for the 135, 335, and 535 is rated at 50hp.

Is it me or do I see a lot of body roll in the third photo? If so, they should've done less aero and more suspension development.

Furthermore, progressive springs in the front? How do those springs not bind at the bottom? Some nice performance linear springs would've fit the bill without having to worry about coil bind.

I mean, WTF?!

And how much is this software upgrade?

just not big on the huge halos around the lights and the lip kit

Angels are a trademark of BMW and that is why most of their vehicles have them. The lip kit is not the best this this car.

I personally like the BMW Performance "Tii" aero kit.

There is body roll in that photo. The suspension that Hartge uses is a Bilstien PSS9 adjustable setup. I've tracked a few e36 M3s with this setup and there are is no body roll with these cars. I think this needs larger and hollow sway bars.

BMWs use progressive springs in the front on most of their new cars.

And how much is this software upgrade?

The one I sell is 599.95.

Body roll? What do you drive an F1 car?

With the understanding that this is still completely a street car that is barely any movement at all, most other high performance street cars roll more than that.
