Hi,
I wanted to post to see if anyone else's Mazda3 does the same thing mine does, or if I should schedule a trip to the stealership.

The car is an 04 wagon with an automatic. I've had it 3 months. The temperatures are getting colder here in Ohio and I have noticed that on these cold mornings that the shift into 2nd gear from first in the morning is really harsh. There are two stop signs I go thru every just as I leave my house and going into second from each one the car just seams to hang first a little long then slams home second. I'm driving the car normally and not flooring the thing either. When temps are warmer out or after 2 to 3 minutes of driving there is no problem. All other gears are fine.

The car has 46,000 miles on it, so if no one else chimes in that there car does this then I'll be getting it to the dealer before the magic 50,000 mile warantee cut off. Trans fluid is the proper color and not low.

Thanks!

Mine was doing the same thing. It is an 04 sedan. It would almost bark the tires if you timed it just right... Dealership had an updated flash for the transmission computer I believe. They did it last week and the problem seems to be fixed.

Great! I'll call them tomorrow and schedule a time for them to reflash it. I love easy fixes!

Thanks!
