HALTECH,OR MICROTECH.

I am in need of a new ECU,and engine management,so I am exploring all options.

I need to know if there is any standalone for our cars that can completely replace the ECU,since the stock ECU is about$1100 I would rather put that money elsewhere.

The E6X will replace the factory computer and can be use alone. It takes some good electrical wiring.

We have the E6X in stock and can supply it with all you need to install.

awsome, post a price.

I would much rather use this than a piggy back.

what about OBDII interface?

will you supply me with a detailed install diagram, and a base map?

**********.com got the microtech working on a msp.....It is between 1,800-2k installed and tuned and what not................

thanks guys but I don't want a ECU,I just want stand alone.
my car will need it,
forged
disco patato
4" intake
3" exhaust
ported head and mani's
so I think I need some real tuning on this biatch

Yes it is. Wasn't Beau working on making it plug and play? Not sure if it's available yet. Anyone want to clear that up?

it is a full standalone... the way Beau has is wired in the jumper harness is to utilize all the stock sensors. though the stock ECU is still used for the gauge cluster. I know the AEM is capable of controlling absolutely everything. as an added bonus the AEM can do MANY extra things

OBDII is not going to happen with any standalone. MPI Tuner plus two extra injectors are around $1,100.00 shipped to your door. Good for over 325 whp.

You will find it on the fastest and most powerful Proteges on this forum. No idle problems, no starting problems, no running very rich problems, no OBDII problems. Installs in less then two hours. Comes with a real base start up maps that works. More people use it on this forum, so you get tons of support. Ask the people that have it and know how to use it right. They will never run a standalone.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the set-ups mentioned. All the people behind development of them for Protege applications are on the board and have good reputations.

trust me it would have been my first choice, but I am in need of a new ECU,so it would end up costing about $2200.a little steep if you asked me.

thats why I want a true standalone, that will not need a ECU in the car at all.

The price is USD$1,500.00 I would made a harness specifically for the protege and with all connectors to run it by itself. It will be tuned for either stock injectors or I can supply Bosch 440s and also map it for these.

The harness will be complete to run the injectors, the coils, the idle control valve and all sensors.

This unit has no limitations on what you can do and the best is that you can use it in any car you want later on.

Wow, another EMS thread. It's not what EMS to use. It's the operator using the EMS. If you never tuned before, find a tuner who knows what they're doing.

Since you're in Norcal, a place to contact is Shiv Pathak at Vishnu Tuning if you are needing dyno time.

JDM SAM-thanks,but as soon as this thing is done getting built it's going straight over to TURBOHOSES for tuning.

and the only reason I need info on witch one is is because I need it do be exactly what I need, plug into factory harness,no splicing, need no fac ECU in the car,to use all factory sensors, windows compatible, and come with a base map for 440 injectors.

if thats what you need aem is about the only way to go www.**************************.com is the place to get it talk to them they can tell you how to do it
