Hi,

i guess bringing this thread back from the grave...

i was wondering if anyone here can help me with my hiboost

So, i have a 2003 mazda protege5 running the hiboost turbokit ver.1 with the pipe over the valve cover style.
now im having issue after getting it back from the the shop. (threw a rod through the block = burning oil/crack piston ring)
anyways it has a replacement engine now.. a little under 60k miles. bone stock)(

The Setup:
hiboost turbo kit ver.1
ihi turbo vf22 or something rather
I have stock internals
hks ssqv
im runnning ngk iridium zfr6fix-11(stock for the mazdaspeed protege) gapped at .44 i believe they are one step colder

The Issue

when from idle sounds like a subaru (boxer engine)
so from 1-5 gear under 3k rpms it sounds like misfiring and bogging ( NO POWER/LOST OF POWER)i dont know if thats the same ANYTHING AFTER 3K RPM'S IT PULLS LIKE A MOTHA!
but there is a lot of vibration under 3k rpms. and also above 3k rpm's, but only in 5th gear.

so, the shop told me they checked the compression pass all across the cylinders
i bought ngk iridiums (stock for the mazdaspeed protege (zfr6fix-11) this would be my second set just because i wanted to make sure its not the spark plugs. so i check gap from the box it was at .44 on all plugs. the one that the shop installed was at .42 which is i guess within spec.

i checked the spark there are spark on all the wires and ignition coil is good i measured the resistance on it and the wires as well
i replaced the injectors (from having spare fuel injectors) anyways. i swapped both the injectors the one i had on there and the one i had for spare. just to make sure.
i also measured the specs on the resistance on the injectors and the harness plug. that passed. ...

The Conclusion:
so... this leads me to believe the only issue is the map or the haltech (tuning issue)
funny thing is it ran fine (untuned) before the incident with throwing the rod through the block happened.
could it be cause it was out of juice for more than 6 months. now the haltech f10x has resetted?

The question

can anyone help me with a base map for the haltech F10x setup?
or anyone know where i can reference one or who to turn to for this issue.
 
I'm glad you did bring this thread back to life. I've been looking for a good base map and maybe we can get more people to share if they see this.

and i also now have a major leak coming from the FUEL Tank, i was informed by the owner of the shop, that the guy "mechanic" that was working on my fuel tank fuel pump was fired. the owner didn't really specify why , anyways .... when i was telling him what is going with the car still. he tried helping me diagnose or trouble shoot (verbal). and he informed me that to double check the fuel pressure "just in case" and thats when he told me he had fired the guy who worked on it, and he told me he might have installed something wrong (loose) maybe. just double check.

what do you think it could be. you think fuel pump or PRC Pressure regulator solenoid valve might have something to do with it.

Update:

Fixed the fuel.leak issue it was the plastic fuel hose that comes from the fuel pump.. at first i thought the fuel line retaining clip. (Which i replaced anyways) bought the part from mazda dealership. 8 bucks for a pair. Anyways the plastic fuel line was not hooked or clipped on. Some how it came off?!!!. Maybe to much back pressure when maybe i stepped on it. It leaked before too when my friend went throttle happy rev happy that is. When i told him to drive it for me. Just to hear what it souned lik when driving.

Anyways.... now my car wont start i loaded the f10x base map from the ems haltech f10x.
Now it turns over only but no ignition. So i didnt save te prior tune or setup it had when it ran with the bad idle below 3k rpms.

Someone please help me .. ken can i use or work off of the map u posted in the begining of this thred? What setup did u have stock engine or some internal after market parts?

Im running bone stock on engine i have a greddy sp1 catback exhaust.

Help help! Please someone

Update :

I downloaded kens map. anyways no improvement same as before infact!, now the idle bouces up and down.
clean the egr valve? (aware of the egr valve idle fix on the how to section) maybe ill clean it anyways. lol
