Had my first tank slapper in the speed3 WOW!

So i was coming off the highway to a very nice "S" offramp. So as im coming off turning right the back end starts to come out (boom01) , then i correct and it goes each way 1 more time and regain control. With proper countersteering and brake control i got a hold of it just before the shorter left sweeping part of the ramp (first) . But as im losing it at the start looking at the ditch im thinking, oh shiat im screwed.

But overall this is what i learned, to teach others, and why im posting.

With my mx-6 my driver capability came in at probably 100% of vehicle capability if not a little more: as in the car could be a bit better and i could maximize performance of vehicle. But ive owned an mx-6 or PGT for 6+ years.

With my speed3 i would say im at 65% of its capability. I realized real fast that this car with the right driver can do alot more then i can right now.

Also for long sweeping turns, try to resist the temptation to really giver as your going through, this will cause the oversteer i got. Just go in a bit slower and come out faster at the end.

also dont ever hit the brakes in the middle of a turn, unless ur ready for the back to step out fast. If the back does step out countersteer and get back on the gas a little to transfer the weight to the back wheels to regain traction

They call it Dynamic Stability Control. Be thankful you have it! Your rear brakes are automatically applied to correct your little boo boos.

im glad you saved it and all, but you got lucky. never hit the brakes mid corner if you don't want your ass end to come out. its the same thing with bikes. what do you do when you go into a real tank slapper??? you hit the gas! not hit the brakes! i'm not trying to start s*** here, but how do you come up with driver skill being 100% of the cars capabilities?? or even 65% of the cars?? that is kind of like when i hear people that have been riding sportbikes for a year saying that they have outgrown their 600cc bikes and need a liter bike. just plain squidly and dangerous!

I am a fan of DSC after I watched the driver who had achieved the top time at the Zoom Zoom Live event get a free lap and the driver prior to him had turned off the DSC. The top time driver lost control in the first corner and damn near spun out. We all got a good laugh out of it, but the announcer knew right away that someone had turned the DSC. He said it over the mic as soon as he spun out. If you want to get adventurous only turn off the DSC in a closed off area where there is nothing to hit.

First of all maybe I didnt explain it properly, I didnt slam the breaks mid turn, I turned into the skid got off the gas immediately and when i started to straigten out (only a second later) I started to ease on the break until i regained control and then repowerd through the next turn.

GoFast - you may not mean to but you are starting s***, Im not comparing myself to a rider in any way shape or form. All I used was a term that would best explain what happened which riders typically use.

AND I say im 100% of my 6s abilitys becuase in any sitution I know exactly how much I can push it so not to spin/slide/... out of control. If it had a bit more power then I know i would be comfortable taking it a little quicker in most situations.

As for the Speed3 your right, I dont have any way possible of measuring how much of the capability I have. Your right. But I can take a good estimation cant I?

Lastly I had the DSC off because just before this I wanted to have a fun launch near my place and practice my 60ft because im hopping to go to the 1/4mile soon and I have launched it maybe twice since I got it.

Don't let off the gas, point the front wheels where you want the car to go and accelerate to transfer the weight to the rear wheels and plant them. If the MS3 had 120 HP like my old VW Scirocco that I built for auto-x then I would say floor the gas, but in the MS3 that will probablyt just get you in more trouble!

Probably the easier thing to to do is leave the DSC on!

Get some time in an older 911. Then you will see TRUE meaning of trailing throttle oversteer.
