I personally went with the 5000k HIDs. Bought from Gary (protephile) and they look damn great. I was looking for pure white (no bluish hue) so I picked the 5000k. Easiest install ever, took me 20 minutes, 10 to find the best place to put the ballasts and 10 to do the actual install. Bought them for $200 during the group buy, I think he has them for around $230 now, not sure though.
If you choose to go with Garys Techone HID kit, here are some install instructions, Rush did a great job with this.

Here's the best deal on HIDs from a reputable vendor if I say so myself!

My vote DEFINITELY goes with Gary and the Techone kit. It's one of the best mods I've EVER done to my MSP.

I had originally selected the 7000K, but ultimately went with 6000K. I'm thrilled with the light output.

As stated before, what K you go with all depends on what you're looking for. You go from a pure (with a touch of yellow) light at 5000K, to 'diamond' (clean white with a mix of blue) at 6000K, to a 'true blue' at 7000K, and start dipping into a deeper blue (with a touch of purple) at 8000K.

The light output also drops after 6000K. Anything more than that (7000K, 8000K), you lose light in exchange for deeper blue/purple hues.

Good luck!

EDIT: Take a look at this post, it was EXTREMELY helpful for me in choosing what K to go with -- http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showpost.php?p=2623140&postcount=52

People have claimed the light output drops above 6000K before, I was worried with 8000K but seriously, there is no diference in vision.

I lined it up against a OMC member with 6000K, and asside from the Hue... There is no diference... I also have a P5 with the 4 seperate lights, compared to the 6000K in a sedan, (Hi/Low)

hmm I dunno. I'll have to compare my mom's 5200 and my sister's 6000 with my 6000.. my mom's 5200 outputs a ridiculous amount of light, it's seriously obscene. Good thing it's oem so the beam has a precise cutoff. Mine just felt like they weren't even on the other night when I was driving and it was heavy miserable rain.

.. it was the same way with Luminics (mad jdm yo) halogens with the blue coating, but I don't remember my OEM bulbs ever being like that.

my friend has 12,000k on his car and its soo ugly. its like pure pink, blinding as all hell. the light output is good tho. i would say, anything above stock halogens are better. my vote would be for 6000k tho. also, if you go with the hi/lo beam single bulb setup, dont flash your lights like crazy (like when letting someone go, who's waitin to turn or what not), that will ruin the hid kit. my friend went through 3 ballasts so far. the company was sayin his alternator wasnt puttin out enuff voltage, wether its true or not i dunno.

i had 12k's in my car. and i took them out less than 2 weeks. later.

they were hi/low kits but when plugged in with no mods the low beams would work when the high beam switch in the car was engaged. and when the low beam was engaged i would get nothing....

i rearranged some wires and got it to work... but no high beams.

and then about a week later the passenger side light would intermittantly shut off. i would have to turn my lights off then back on again and it would work fine again.... until it felt like doing it again.

i bought them off ebay. 240$ xenon-vision.com i beleive.

^Yea, that happens to me ever so often. My passenger side HID wont come on randomly, so I have to turn them of and on and then both work. weird (bang)

what is DRL?

daytime running lights... and i would go with a hi/lo or bixenon kit probably 5500k or 6000k so that you still get the bluish hue but don't sacrafice light output.

Daytime running light would greatly shorten the life of the Xenon bulbs....

btw, I have a set of Helio 6k HID Hi/low beam set for MSP for sale if anyone is interested.

PM me.... :)

I bought the techone kit (7000k) for 200 bucks shipped. Awesome deal imo.
The 7000 is a crisp bluesh tint and are great at night. I can see so much further and more clearly. Check out the sig pic:)
