Titanium MSP
OK.

Im interested in this New trend. I personaly think the stock MSP lights I have Suck.

I have an 03.5 so no fogs.
I would like to keep the High/Lo Function (if thats normal?) im really wanting to upgrade to.....Say the 6000k or 7000k Lights.
What am i ordering exactly. the numbers are so damn confusing, I know the 6000k-12000k stands for Color (heat rating?)

But i dont know what im looking for! Someone help me out. h4's? h7's?

What did YOU order exactly and can you Post Pictures?(RTM)

You need an H4 Hi/Low kit in your choice of color(6K-12K Kelvins). This kit will allow you to retain all original Functions.

The fact that it's an MSP has nothing to do with DRLs. The fact that you live in Oregon, where there is no such thing as DRLs, means you don't have to worry about it, lol.

As for the Kelvin scale, you get get bulbs with a lower temperature than 6000K. Not as many manufacturers go lower, but some go down to 4000K, which is more of a yellow light, looking more like stock for color output. 6000K is a very pure white, 8000K more blue, 10000K more purplish. The MSP takes H4 bulbs, and as for Hi/Lo functionality, there aren't many kits.

I have the 8000K H4 Hi/Lo kit from Xtec, but I've had a few problems with the kit being stuck on hi-beam twice. Not sure if they still offer the kit.

.
Yes the fact that its an MSP does have something to do with it....NO MSP Has DRL's from the factory.

Ok heres another question.
I want Clear bright lights, But i also like the Blue/purple lighting. Should i step it up to like 7000k? Or 8000k. Would 8000k Better Light coverage and give me more Light surface area then say..the stock high beams? Im considering just getting the the normal NON hi/lo kit.

Anywhere between 6-8K and you should be happy...6 has the light bluish tint you are probably looking for while still upping your usable light output. 8K is heading toward a more blue/purple color and slightly less usable light output than the 6's.
Hope this helps.

We have daytime running lights in Canada, every car must have it here. I haven't checked the MSPs personally, but they are supposed to here.

So the 7000 or so MSPs that are in Canada that have DRL are somehow not MSPs then..

No! they are not. They are Mazda Knockoffs.

Im sure these still werent present at the factory...but I will rephrase it ...No US MSP.
I don't even consider Canadien Models since they are another country...Half of what they do is backwards from the US...Not saying its wrong...Just different.
Thanks though.

You would also wonder why our safety standards are higher than the US standards when Americans are much crazier drivers than us. It's costing us some nice cars!!!

I personally went with the 5000k HIDs. Bought from Gary (protephile) and they look damn great. I was looking for pure white (no bluish hue) so I picked the 5000k. Easiest install ever, took me 20 minutes, 10 to find the best place to put the ballasts and 10 to do the actual install. Bought them for $200 during the group buy, I think he has them for around $230 now, not sure though.
If you choose to go with Garys Techone HID kit, here are some install instructions, Rush did a great job with this.

6000K is even pretty blue, not the greatest visibility in incliment weather. The HIDs you see cars come with from the factory are usually 4300K, but even 5000K is pretty good.

I have 6000K and wish I went with 5000K. Anything above 6000K is a joke.. just for looks, crap for light output, especially in the rain!
