did the conversion and the passanger side flickers at times, sometimes so bad it wont come on, all connections are correct and tight, even went with bigger fuzes, anybody have any ideas?

bulb could be bad...that was my problem..switch it to the other ballast and see if it still happpens..

Not sure if I read it here or on another forum. Are your HIDS on as your DRLS? What I read was a guy was have flickering problem the solution was grounding ballast to the body of the car not the ground wire in the bulb wiring.

Not sure if this situation is remotely close to yours or not but just remember reading it and thought I would throw it out there.

disconnect you drls and you shouldnt have a problem
under your steering colum you have a box that si rectangular shaped and it has a bunch of wires going into it
cut the black and yellow wire
be careful their are 2 black and whit wires one is a 10 or 12 gauge dont cut the thicker gauge or your car wont start
if you need pics i will post them

daytime running lamps lol, i figured it out, but if i cut that wount it kill the power to my hids???

only when they are in the "Off" position

They'll turn on when you activate the headlights

so if i cut that wire under the steering colum they wont flick anymore? even though my hids are plugged into my oem harness

I am not familiar with daytime running lights

So, don't go cutting wires unless you know what you're doing

You have DRL?

im gonna have to have my local p5 buddy come do it cause i cant fit, dont ask how i own a p5. 6'4 260

I'm assuming you have a "plug and play" kit and using the ground provided in the bulb socket. Scratch that ground and run a ground for the ballast straight to the body. If you don't mind loosing your drl's you can try the wire cutting method and see if that works. Both are easy solutions and if it doesn't solve the issue both can be fixed without any effort. Good luck!

If you have DLR's then you get flicker when your lights are off. Something that all us Canadians have to deal with. There are a few differnt fixes already posted on this forum!

ok so when i ground it, ground it from the balasl? because when i unplugged the ground from the oem socket and tryed to ground it to car it didnt work, somehwere down the line the ground and hot cross.

I'd like to see some pics of this if possible? Seems like an easier way around the DRL and HID issue.

There is the DRL off/ Fogs on how-to

I just did this last week-end (in the freezing cold !) and when I turn the switch off (the one you install in the how-to), your DRL are off and the HIDs don't flicker anymore. My cousin who helped me went trough 3 balasts because of is DRLs on is car so I think that for canadian P5 it's a must do before you install HIDs

Mine does that on both the Miata and the P5 at times. I am assuming its a bad ground....but usually to fix my problem, I flash my brights a few times and it resets itself....lol.
