I have tried searching for this but haven't been able to find anything helpful. I am looking into getting conversion HID kits for my headlights and I would kind of like my Fog lights to match. It doesn't seem like many people have done this so I wanted to get some opinions. My main concerns are that iirc HID bulbs and ballasts are very fragile and I am worried mounting them low in the bumper like that they could get jarred around or even wet. Any input on this would be awesome. And input on HID conversions for the P5 would be appreciated also.

There's plenty of people who have hid kits hell I have one. I mounted the ballasts on the on the strut tower they are out of the way there.

Are the kits for the fogs? Most kits don't have enough wire to run from the fogs all the way to the strut tower.

Yeah there's kits they are the same as the headlights just a different bulb you need the H3 bulb but either you have to mod the fog or get the H3C bulb its shorter to fit. As far as where to mount it idk just take a look and see what's safe. But id definitley wrap the connections to prevent water from getting in.

if you want to run HIDs in your fogs you're going to have to do some trimming on the foglight housing itself to get the bulb to fit properly. Most people on this forum have bought DDM tuning HID kits, i would recommend the slim ballasts just because their easier to mount/hide. most, if not all reputable manufacturers make waterproof ballasts (DDMtuning being one of them) so you shouldnt have to worry about them getting wet. as far as mounting them goes, you can buy or make brackets. i personally just use the double sided stick pads the kits come with, as long as you clean and dry the surface your sticking it to the ballast wont come off

If you order from DDM, the wires are JUST long enough to keep the ballasts for the fogs in the engine bay.
