Stupid Question?

Where the Hell do you get Gun Metal Paint? It looks awesome. I would like to givie it a try.

I got an idea. I'll remove my emblems, ship them to you and you can do them for me. :D Just kidding. I would like to know where to get the paint though.

And were those DIY ??

That emblem isn't all chrome, there's black surounding the"Protege5". I just want the word Protege5 in gunmetal. Maybe alot of time and some masking tape will do the trick.

I got the paint from Pep Boys. The emblems were painted using plasti-kote spray paint.

Materials needed:
400 grit sandpaper
plasti-kote #638 gray primer/surfacer
plasti-kote #GM7210 gunmetal
plasti-kote #620 clear

Here's my 7 step process.

Step 1:
Remove emblems, it helps alot if the car is sitting in the hot sun.

Step 2:
Sand emblems using 400 grit sandpaper.

Step 3:
Using some cardboard push the emblems through the cardboard. The pins will keep the emblems in place.

Step 4:
Spray the primer and let dry. A second coat may be applied if needed.

Step 5:
Spray the gunmetal paint and let dry. Apply another coat and let dry.

Step 6:
Spray the clear coat and let dry. Apply another coat and let dry.

Step 7:
Attach emblems back on the car. The back emblems will probably stay on due to friction alone, but use a little bit of clear silicone or some other form of adhesive to be sure. The front emblem needs silicone to stay in place.

Emblems

How did you get the front one off without breaking it I thought that they were glued to the grill. Also how did you get the rear emblems to stay when you put them back on did you use the existing hardware?
