M macklum Member Apr 13, 2003 #4 another trick is to freeze the gum with ice,Dry ice will work better ,once frozen you can break the gum and pull it off the carpet carefully . This is a slow process. It does work . If you dont want water on the carpet put the ice in a plastic bag.
