Guitar Hero

I can't wait! I got the demo last night and it was good, except the fact my guitar wasn't working properly with it, which pissed me off. Forced to play the songs with the controller, but it was fun. In quick play, you choose your song, then choose which guitar you wanna play, lead or rhythm/bass, then select the part of the song you want to start at (whole song from the start, first chorus, first verse, second chorus...........), then select the speed (full speed, slow, slower, slowest). This way, you can perfect each section of the song and it's good practice. Hopefully the real game doesn't have that stupid bug I had with the demo.

unless you have an official RO SG guitar it won't work. . .im kinda pissed since i have a TAC freedom V and also my SG has been retrofitted with a wireless pack

Damn that sucks, guess I'll have to go out and get a new guitar then. So no third-party guitars are going to work with the release too???

I think the instructions say to recalibrate the guitar in the "options." I only ran through the instructions really fast and glanced over something stating if the guitar does not work to recalibrate it in the "option" mode. Hope it works. Otherwise, Guitar Hero II is kicking my ars!!!! IT KICKS ARS! CHEE HOOO!!!

Hmm, haven't tried that, but I'll try anyway, even though the calibration is to fix the lag some TVs have. My order for a new guitar is on the way anyway. Played all the songs on career on easy just to get used to them, get a feel for them, loving it so far! Only 28 songs on easy career though. Guitar should be here next week, first goal is to get 100% on all songs on Easy and Medium, shouldn't take that long hopefully, then 5 star all Hard songs.

Well, been rippin up Guitar Hero 2 and damn is it ever good. I went back and played the first one one night and instantly improved on tons of songs. Since I'm always looking for more, I've decided to start creating my own custom songs to put into the game. Started working on my first tonight, and it's about set to go, so hopefully it works good, I'll be testing it out tomorrow. As long as it goes well, I'll be creating many many more.

Has anyone else tried creating their own, or replacing some tracks with some that other people have created? As soon as I get my first one working, I'll try to post a video of it.

I like GH1 way better than GH2....the execution of 2 is better but the song list in 2 SUCKS ASS!

The song list in GH2 has a totally different direction than in GH1. In GH1, alot of the songs had good guitar verses that were the catchy parts of the song (Cowboys From Hell, Stellar, etc.). IN GH2, I find the songlist consists of more shredding and just plain playing super fast solos. I find there are way more sections that have quick notes and stuff like that. I think the more fun to play IMO (except Misirlou and Jordan, they are just damn impossible).

GH2 has made me better at GH1, as I went back and finally passed Bark At The Moon on Expert, and blew away 4 previous high scores on my first try.

For s**** and giggles we plugged in our GH controllers to play Street Fighter Alpha 3. The fights were pathetic, yet surprisingly fun and full of hilarity.(fight)

Bahahah! LMAO! Hrm..should plug it into some race game! LOL

Can you upload songs from a cd? That would be a great audience participation thing to do with my band at gigs

There's alot more involved then just uploading songs. A few days ago, I took about 4 hours to create Perfect World by Billy Talent, but I haven't tested it yet. Yesterday I did a note chart for Nothing Else Matters by Metallica, which I'm really looking forward to playing. The note chart itself took about 4 hours to make. Besides making the note chart, you have to input all the events that happen (guitarists actions, singers actions, drummers actions, lighting, etc...), so it's a lengthly process. I'll hopefully be testing out both songs tonight and working out any bugs I find. Right now, I think my only challenge will be getting the songs synced right, which is basically a guess and test kinda thing. I'll post some videos as soon as I get them where I like em.
