Guess I'm playing guinea pig with coilovers..

i would have to say that its probly easier than the shop knew how --

to my knowledge there is nothing that should ever have to be cut --
damn N2OInferno i feel for ya -- nothing worse to be excited about something and then have to deal with a soso shop :( i wish you luck

maybe cut ur brake lines after u bitched at them....suxs dude....hope it turns out right....cus i was lookin at those coilovers for my msp......good luck

sorry to hear that man. hope things turn out for the better. sorry to say though if the shop had to cut stuff then their a pretty sh**ty shop. there shouldn't be any modification to anything to fit them on. the only thing that would require cutting IF any would be the bumpstops but that STILL shouldn't be the case. how did you pay for the install/labor, btw?? if you didn't fill out a work order from the start of the job then you can file a complaint to your local district attorney general. in most states you NEED to fill out and sign a work order in order to get work started on your car without it the company can get in legality issues and investigation (btw, if anyone suggests the B.B.B. screw it b/c their not even a government agency to do anything. they only can put up reports). if you still have problems file a complaint to the attorney general's office anyway. the other thing if you paid by credit card contact your credit card company and refute the payment. you have 3 months (?) from the day the card was charge to refute a claim. hope things get better.

Oh, and the kid didn't call B&G last night because he "doesn't have authority to do that." So the manager said he'd call today. We'll see... I still gotta figure out what they cut..

Oh yeah, it MAY have been the bumpstops that were cut.. but maybe I'm just retarded.. do the bumpstops even go on the coilovers?

okay, he showed me what he cut when i went there to pick up the u-haul truck (which has a tail light out too :/)

the coilovers don't fit through the front stock perches, he said they mount themselves, and the bearings have to be on the car so it can pivot? same things with the rear, but it wasn't the perches.. he cut the bearings off to put on the coilovers... i don't know what the are or where they go, but he said he tried and they just don't fit at all unless you do that... hell if i know.. after i move i'll have the suspension checked out... more money that i don't have.. :( i wish someone else had put the B+Gs on though so i knew if it was right or not..

if i look at them compared to say, the JIC's, they don't have the plate on the top to mount them.. maybe that's what he was talking about, but i really am not 100% sure..

that plate is a camber plate....the b&g's dont come with them.....i guess he cut and reused the stock upper mounts with the coilovers??? hmmm post pics when u can

I called B&G directly. The guy said it's going to cost him a hell of a lot of money, but my car WILL be done tomorrow. He's shipping the correct part overnight and knows that I'm moving so he's having everything done as fast as possible. What do I take from this? A+ service from B&G in a crisis time! Then I was like "ok, i DO have an install question cause I don't know if he's doing it right.." and I asked about the cutting..

NOW, what he (the guy at B&G) said is that you DO have to cut the bearings off and put them on the coilovers. The reason is because they don't have pillow ball mounts. He said that fixes the clunk or pop noise that everyone hears, because that's the cause of it. It's the same exact thing they did with their Protege5 show car. So apparently this guy knew what he was doing all along. I just don't ever trust people when it comes to my car, ya know?

My computer will be the last thing all packed up, so if I can get some pictures before I leave to SC for you guys I will. Otherwise, I'm sorry, but you'll have to wait until tuesday.

sounds like everything's taken a turn for the better...good luck on the final product dude :D

the left front coilover is being overnighted today... er... it should be there in the morning.. they're going to fix my car first thing, and then i'm going to take it for a quick test drive... after that, i'm loading it up onto the trailer, and heading down to SC.

OK, sorry I didn't come here often........

I have the B+G coil-overs for over 1 year now (including one winter) and I am very satisfied with them.

Good ride, good damping, good overall quality, fits the car perfectly for me. Truly a quality product, great price and service from B+G. Lifetime waranty too!

The car have the same handling dynamics, only they are amplified. A AWR 21.5 would make the car perfect for me and really agressive.

The things I didn't like:

1- Dust boots broke after 1 winter.
2- NO DAMPING ADJUSTABILITY
3- No adj. shock casing in lower arm bracket (like the FLT-A2).
4- No camber adj.

So next year I will move to some JIC's.(headbang)

Bump -- N2OInferno -- did you make the trip ok and any up dates ?? take care :)

Hey Greensleeper -- got any pics --

thanks -- that has a real nice stance to it -- was that as far as they go ?? if so -- is there still any ride left -- later :)
