GT-28 or haltech e6x

Yup, I hung out with the garrett guys at SEMA. Great people, and build the best turbos IMHO. The gt-28 is a nice piece, and you will see the size difference, when they are next to eachother.

without the right way to control the added flow...its useless. Go with the Haltech and some larger injectors.

i'd still do it...i'd only assume that azian is gonna do injectors anyways even still i'd rather have a more efficent turbo running at lower boost than a small turbo running higher boost.

just putting in bigger injectors isnt going to make things how they should be arunto...if theres no way to control those injectors whats the point?

get the gt-28, put the gt-25 on ebay, sell drugs to make the difference up on the haltech, buy injectors, steal underpants, ......., profit.

ty...you beat me to it....CONTROL THE FUEL...then up the turbo... its just COMMON SENSE.

The t25...at the levels of boost you are all running is very efficient... its a great turbo...

i see all your points, BUT is there not a way to modify the air flow of the gt-28rs like that of the gt-25 stock? I dont mind running 4-5 psi on the gt-28rs until i have the money for the haltech.

Do people still think it is a bad decison?

And are these turbos direct swaps or am i going to have to modify stuff to fit.

Boostisgood, you said there is a size difference between the gt-28 and gt-25r how then will it bolt right up?

i would get the GT28 and sell off stock turbo on eBay and use the money towards what ever fuel management you want

and yes i know he would need more than JUST injectors.

he can run the t28 off stock inj's with fuel management...depeding on the duty cycle at the level of boost he is going for they should be ok

this is the turbo i am considering. Most likely the one i will buy.

Flows 350 hp

gt-28RS

and i still dont see why i cant run this turbo at lower boost to compensate for the increased airflow. As long as the ecu is seeing the same amount of air there should be no change in fueling. There are no electrical outputs on the turbo itself. All the ecu knows is how much air is getting in.

Mp5jeff please explain a little more.

sorry in advance, i am gonna threadjack for a moment:

im new to a lot of this stuff... on my last car, we did all our boost tuning through what we called a "MIC" setup (70mm MAFS, 42lb injectors, and custom chip tuning)

Is there any similar tuning method for the MSP?

azian6er- theres a thread about someone running a t3/t4 at low boost levels, his car ran like s***, that one you want has a pretty big turbine housing...seems kind of pricy on that website, you arent buying from them are you?

hell no. I will buy from my friend who has the hook up. What is a good price for the gt-28s you think?

What was the thread about with the guy running low boost on the t3/t4

also the t3.t4 is bigger isnt it?

the wheels are but the one you linked has decent size housings...the thread about the t3/t4 basically said he needs fuel/timing management =)

you'd be in trouble when you went open loop due to spool times , you'd run even richer, for a while

true:(

wtf man. so no turbo?

honestly, i may be able to get the haltech right after i get my turbo on. The turbo will be about 900-1000 and my turbo im sure will sell for 500-600 (only 8K miles on it)

so ill only need about 400-500 more (ikm selling all my stock stuff as well so money will be there.)
