Grinding

Anybody else experienced a first to second gear grind when your car is cold? I've change the tranny fluid to Redline MT-90, installed the Corksport RMM inserts and installed the RKM shifter base bushings... Once it gets good and warm the problem goes away. Im hoping its not a synchronizer problem already..car has 19,600 miles.

Seems to be a common issue with the Redline MT-90. Mine does the same thing, once warm after about 5 minutes no prob... you could try the Ford synthetic juice which is really good as well, XT-M5-QS. I used to run this in my SVT Focus.

Yeah I figured I would need to take the redline out..I can't remember if this started before or after I changed. Thanks I might try some of that if I can find it. I was also thinking about ordering some Amsoil.

I had this problem and so did 08Cosmic3 before going to the motorcraft XT-M5-QS fluid, which fixed this issue. I didn't experience it often, however, since i typically let my car warm up for a few minutes before driving it.

+2 on the xt-m5-qs. Easily obtainable at your nearest Ford dealer. It's a little pricey but works.

mine was & is a fair imitation of Cap'n Crunch before/after the MT90. Just baby it until the fluid gets up to temp, meanwhile +1 on the double clutch- 's fun, too! (drive)

Im going with the Motorcraft MTF when it warms back up enough to change it out..I've seen some info in other Forums suggesting it as well...I hope it takes care of it. Thanks for the suggestions on here to..(2thumbs)
