Griffin Retro fitted TMIC arrives this week! Pics soon!

Any pics of it installed?

Looking to see how everything looks covered up with the OEM cover!
Is it me or do I count 24 air pipes and IIRC, the stock one has 22. Assuming the core is the same height due to the end tank size, how much more air flow capacity are we getting for roughly 12% more air pipes? The Griffin core pipes look slightly larger so more air flow could come from that too. Do you have a picture of the stock one next to the Griffin one?

Unless someone actually does a CFM measurement, we won't know how much more this core flows over stock. Not raining on anyones efforts here, just asking the questions. I for one would LOVE to have a better TMIC that works with the OEM cover! (yes)

Count the rows on this stock MS6 intercooler.

I'm interested in hearing more about this. It sounds like it could be a great option. Of course, shipping to/from Canada would probably put it closer to the cost of an ETS or SU for me, but still, I'd like to know how it works out. Specifically if it flows more air and makes more power (and how much of both) over stock.

Thanks for the info on this new product!

contact benji @ griffin today and will be sending my OEM TMIC off here shortly. Price is $400 plus shipping! Hope all goes well!

Need a comparision picture like this one of the Stock vs. ETS one please.(bowdown)

Obvious the 3.5" ETS is larger and only has 14 rows.
The stock one is about 2.25" IIRC.

Compared to the picture below, the Griffin one appear to go all the way flush with the end tank edges, so 3 inch core???? Ruler next to the core so we can know for sure.

Hoping to figure this one out before October 18th, as I am hosting an import show at the dealership I work at. Anyone in the San Francisco Bay Area interested in showing off their ride let me know. Free registration! Sorry for the thread dump!

Its not just the amount of rows. Look carefully at this pic. The inlets to each row allow for much faster airflow. Less obstruction and better cooling efficiency.

Also, the ETS only has 15 rows... mine has 24. This is why my friend put the ETS on his car and the car didnt freak out, it was actually spooling slower... the temps were no different than mine cold tmic vs cold tmic. My car would boost cut because the stock ecu was seeing boost so fast. Also, with the ETS... this is just speculation, but the thicker core actually hurts the airflow into the tmic, the bigger core takes up more space inside the scoop and allows less air to travel down into the i/c

The ETS is a lot thicker, the griffin gained about a 1/2 inch of thickness compaired to stock. The good news is, the when the ETS heatsoakes it takes forever to cool down. My tuner said the ETS car that was there the week prior took much longer breaks in between runs... and that was spraying the tmic with water.

cool man! One thing i would recommend is when you get the tmic in, make sure you take a damp rag and wipe the end tanks out as best you can...

How has been your experience with the Griffin TMIC so far? Was the boost cut issue fixed by the ECU alone, or did you have to tune it?

Thanks!!
