Green Key Exclamation Mark

Wife called and was unable to start engine. Said brake pedal was blocked and start button red along with a solid green key light with exclamation point over it. Key is brand new, got car end of October. She said she pressed a few buttons on the FOB and after hitting the 'panic' hold button the car was able to start. whaaa?

Maybe she had accidentally pressed the panic button previously with out noticing and the car locks out until it is pressed again? I dunno, never pressed that button.

That's what I thought too but by pressing that I think the horn sounds off like an alarm, right?
