Greddy/Trust may file bankruptcy

As a consumer we have the rights to find parts for as cheap as possible, now if i even wanted to get say a bov why in the world would i spend 250+ dollars on a greddy part where I can buy a bov from ebay for say 30 bucks that are exactly the same. Its like spending 100 bucks on a shirt where i could find the same design at target for 15 bucks...but anyway I would never buy a greddy part to begin with. just my .02

if companies like Greddy start going bankrupt. who are all the Knock off manufactors gonna copy?? they cant do R&D they just copy parts.

and the reason Rotas are so cheap is because they dont have to spend any design money they just steal everyone elses design. (if work and volk went bankrupt what would rota sell??)

my post ended up before the post i qouted????

You gotta admit though, their turbo kits are a joke. They cost as much as a full-race kit.

EDIT: Nevermind, I take that back haha. Full-race is a little expensive, but you get my point. With the Greddy kit, you definitely don't get what you pay for.

You're also paying for the CARB certification on most of their kits for US models. To some people that matters.

lol i don't really give a fck about greddy, I always thought all their s*** was expensive.

And no I dont use ebay for performance parts, but there are other companies out there. Stop crying. Move on.

All the fanbois with Greddy stickers are going to have a hard time :(

wow. the speed community gets a good japan company to make a part for their vehicle and thats what you say. i guess you must be a fan boy for one of the few other brands of parts available for the car or you may just be stock. whatever though. oh and about their stuff being expensive. building a car isnt supposed to be cheap and if that is your mentallity then you probably shouldnt even touch your car unless you run 11's with just a test pipe.

Trust in Japan will stay. Greddy in U.S. will go, Ebay/Rota FTL!!!

What rota have to do with anything? They actually make good wheels now. Oh and they do a shitload of R&D. You may want to read up on it some.

10years ago was different. They were just like every other company that makes the fake bov's but now they make a quality wheel.

Who cares if they copy the designs. I have bought expensive wheels, hell my del sol has WORKS. But I've also had to replace one or two. it sucks. I'd much rather buy Rotas and when one gets bent (cause the way the roads are now, it will) then i'm only out $100 instead of $400 per wheel.

I guess if you wanna be a baller then go buy spoons, or you can spend 400 on a set of slipstreams.

Also, I've owned some Greddy stuff. The type s valve was great. The RS is the complete opposite of great. I had so many problems with that POS.

Yeah I already ranted in the thread posted in the Auto news section, I would really hate to see a collapse in the tuning industry... Bottom line: Stop buying sh*t parts!!

Read the comments on the first article posted. I'm pretty sure they are still shipping and selling parts in the U.S. Can anyone with a shop verify this?

hmmm this sucks, there stuff was pretty good

never had any but from what i saw on 350s and g35s, they looked like a pretty good company lol

i use every greddy part i can fit on the car. i dont care if i pay more or not the peace of mind using parts i trust and have used before is where it is at. i have never used ebay knockoffs of greddy parts and will continue to use greddy parts on all my cars as long as the parts are there.

The Japanese tuning firm Trust, known in the U.S. as Greddy, recently filed for bankruptcy in Tokyo District Court. It seems that Trust is approximately $60 million in debt and amassed $43 million in loans after a dreadful decline in sales from February of this year.

Oh well, of all the major aftermarket companies Greddy was always the one i trusted the least. The quality never seemed to be on par with HKS or some other japanese tuning companies.

On another ntoe, the sport compact aftermarket is overpriced as a whole. Compare what we pay to the "hotrod" guys and it is disgusting. It does not suprise me that knockoff companies have done so well, and this is not the last major company that will fall unless they take some serious consideration for changing thier business plans.
